Yep. Fans always want trade backs, especially when they are lacking picks. But just looking at our history the trade backs only meant we passed on a better player, the extra picks resulted in special teams players.

If you have the chance to grab a potentially great player you have to grab him.

In those cases you look at what value you got. Kerrigan wasn't Watt, but he was outstanding. Did the rest of the trade balance out what we gave up in not taking Watt? Hindsight would suggest no, so I would have stuck and taken Watt, but at teh time it wasn't a disastrous trade.

This time around I'd think hard before trading. We're likely top 10, if not top 5 picks, so a blue chip edge rusher could well be far more value in the long run than a trade down. If we're top 5, you have to consider trading down a little and still getting one of the top edge candidates, but I wouldn't trade out of the top 10 unless the offer was ridiculous.
