Re: Merged: The Movies Thread

Brings up an interesting question, if you could only watch 5 movies the rest of your life, what would they be?

Top Gun: Maverick and Snatch would be in there for sure. I'd have to ponder the other 3. Although Ace Ventura or Dumb & Dumber would make that list too. Definitely need something I can watch if I need a guaranteed laugh.

Hoosiers, Rudy, Miracle, Top Gun Maverick, The Longest Yard (newer version with Chris Rock)

I could come with other lists also for this, but this would probably be it.

Good point, definitely need to include a football movie in there too:

Top Gun: Maverick, Snatch, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Friday Night Lights or Varsity Blues, and [Still Open].

I want to watch that one. Glad to hear it's definitely watchable if not just flat out good.

Malik was incredible in Bohemian Rhapsody as Freddie Mercury. He could not have played the role any better. I do want to see The Amateur. He is a solid actor.

Saw Warfare; the real life story about a mission in Iraq and written by one the soldiers on that mission. Warfare was intense. Gets a 9.3/10.

Watching it again now. Every time I watch TGM, it gets even better than the last time.

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread

I love older movies and actually watched Grumpy Old Men recently. Pretty heartfelt and funny. I can see why it got a lot of fanfare at the time. The dynamic between Lemmon and Matthau was entertaining.

Re: Merged: The Movies Thread

My older movie binge continues. I watched Armaggedon recently. Cast was really good with Bruce Willis, Billy Bob Thornton, Ben Affleck and more. Movie was a bit far fetched but still enjoyable. A lot of action but heartfelt. Not a bad way to spend 2 1/2 hours.
