also like Snyder and Allen, this administration is so thin skinned. as much berating of opponents as Trump does you would think he would be able to take a little pushback.

Re: Trump 2.0 Administration Golden Years

For the first time a couple of the Trump voters in my office (not all but a couple) didn't automatically defend Trump or his administration. They still support Trump but think he hired a moron for Secretary of Defense.

How stupid can one be to make assertions about the Signal conversation knowing the guy who broke the story still had the ability to instantly debunk them by releasing the rest of the conversation? Notice National Security advisor Waltz didn't make that mistake - just acknowledging he made a mistake and will learn from it. While Hegseth confirmed to everyone that he is an idiot.

Question for the boards Trump guy do you think it is wise to have an idiot guarding Trumps back? This almost certainly won't be the last time Hegseth embarrasses Trump. Not sure if Trump will still be comfortable with Hegseth now that is clear to everyone how stupid he is).

Probably the media’s fault

Re: Trump 2.0 Administration Golden Years

No need for a Poll , we know it.

https://news.yahoo.com/more-american...120010590.html

More Americans say Trump’s second term has been worse than expected, according to a new poll

Perceptions of Trump’s relationship to democracy have shifted as well. In November, more Americans agreed with the idea that Trump “likes to talk tough” but “won’t threaten democracy” during his second term (43%) than agreed with the idea that Trump “poses a real threat to democracy” because “it’s not just tough talk” (39%). Now, however, the number of Americans who say Trump represents a real threat to democracy (47%) is significantly higher than the number who say it’s all just talk (39%)

Bondi signals probe into Signal chat is unlikely, despite a long history of similar inquiries

Re: Trump 2.0 Administration Golden Years

A bleak assessment from Andrew Sullivan (Who generally is considered center right)

"Two Perfect Months"
https://andrewsullivan.substack.com/...dRedirect=true

".....let’s start with a real, substantive achievement. The Southern border is more secure than it has been in decades. Biden helped a lot with his belated executive orders, but reinstating Remain in Mexico and ending largely fraudulent asylum claims have been even more effective. In February 2024, Border Patrol picked up some 140,641 migrants between legal ports of entry; this February, it was 8,347. Huge success. And proof that previous administrations actively chose to keep the border open....

.....On foreign policy, Trump has in two months ended NATO in all but name, turning it into a protection racket, as the Signal texts prove. It is becoming clearer and clearer that Trump’s aim for Ukraine is to divide it between him and his closest ally, Putin...In economic matters, Trump is fast tipping the US and the world into a potential depression with a trade war as nutty as it is random. These tariffs are on, then off, then on again. They’re up, then down, then massively up, then suspended. They are deployed for “fairness” in trade and then also because of fentanyl and immigration policies. Next week, we get another big shock with the vaunted “reciprocal tariffs” against the entire world. You need a timeline and a computer to keep all this straight.

And even if you support a tariff policy, no sane person can defend the sheer impulsivity of all this.........The disaster this week with Mike Waltz’s astonishingly reckless Signal messaging brings it all together. This is a crew of bigots, sycophants, Fox News drunks and bimbos, Hollywood loonies, Claremont nutters, and uber-online edge-lords cosplaying as statesmen. But they aren’t even faintly serious — as Russia and China now fully understand. And their response to being found out was classic Trump: lie, lie, lie and call journalists scum. By any objective standard, this is a clown car...."
