Matty, if TO is such a cancer to the team why when McNabb went down for the year did Philly players ask "Does this mean TO will come back?" If TO was such a cancer I doubt they would ask that. TO was a great teammate last year and if Andy Reid was not such a stubborn jerk would still be a good team mate this year.

They wanted him back because they were desperate and their backs were against the wall with McNabb out.

TO and good teammate should never be mentioned in the same breath.

I don't know how anyone can look at this guy's antics and say yeah, I'd want that on my team.

Please.

TO is a cancer because of exactly this reason! He has created a divide in the locker room. McNabb hates him and wants him gone. Trotter loves him and wants him to stay. And there's a bunch of other guys on each side of the fence. You're telling me that because a portion of the players want to keep him, that's a good sign???

You want all of your players on the same page as the coaches. TO caused that huge rift. Reid and McNabb want him gone, and a bunch of other players want him back. No matter how you cut it, that ain't good.

I'm telling you that if TO was such a huge cancer EVERY player would want him gone.

I dunno about that - players don't call the plays. My point is that I'm sure a lot of them see the talent but aren't able to truly appreciate the destructive influence on the locker room. Without that "big picture" perspective, I don't put a whole lot of stock in what the players consider to be "good personnel moves".

But the fact remains that he created a huge rift in the Eagles locker room. Is their locker room divided, or is it not?

Are you suggesting that our locker room wouldn't become divided? Your argument isn't making sense.

The Eagles locker room appears to be divided. My point is that the person I was responding to said TO was a huge cancer in the locker room. My response is that if TO was such a huge cancer nobody would come to his defense. The fact that a group of players want him back tells me he is not the huge cancer people outside the locker room think he is.

If TO played like he did last year the skins locker room would not be divided.

To be fair the only players that I have heard would want him back where on D. They pratice at the other end of the field, they sit at opposite side of the bench, they have separate mettings etc...

And if a frog had wings it wouldn't bump its ass when it hops.

TO was playing like he was last year until he opened his big fat mouth one too many times and got suspended. In 7 games this year he had 763 yards and 6 TDs. When you project that to a 16 game season, he was performing just as well as he did last year.

No matter what happens, as long as TO is playing he's going to put up crazy good numbers. But the question is what will his mouth do to the team? In the Eagles' case, it divided the locker room, resulting in Trotter speaking out against Reid.

He'd never play for a one-year deal because he knows he can get a bigger bonus from some other team out there. It's too big a risk to sign him to big money.

Also, in situations like TO when players are asked directly by the Media how they feel about a particular player in a situation like this being welcomed back to the team, they hardly ever mention anything deragatory in reference because that's the smartest way to remain neutral. Some players are naturally going to say they would welcome him back when in reality, that's the farthest thing from the truth.
