I don't understand why DJs seem to find this type of shit funny. I was never an Alliyah fan (you can tell because I can't spell her name) but I remember some jackass DJ's would play some bit of people screaming during her songs and when someone mentioned her name right after her death. The female partner walked out after the first time they did it. This was somewhere in NY and I think the ROC did something in retribution.
Oddly enough, this isn't something the FCC is cracking down on. I guess it doesn't violate conservative religious beliefs. |

That's inexcusable what those DJs did.
As for Aaliyah, she died just a couple of weeks before 9/11 and I remember one of the local DJs talking about how sad a day 9/11 was and all he could was try to cheer people up the only way he know how, by playing music. And I'm pretty sure he did this completely unintentionally....but he went on to play a song by Aaliyah!!
