When 8 out of 10 people who identify as Native American aren't offended, that was good enough for me. That's no longer the case. Now it's 20% of Native Americans, the entire Democratic party, District and federal officials who own RFK, and Fedex, Nike, and $620 billion worth of corporate money backing them. It's now overwhelmingly negative, and as such an announcement will be coming soon. I'm not gonna tweak about it when it's gone, and I'm not denying up until March, there was a small group of Native Americans offended by the name. But you're not gonna get an apology out of me either for supporting the name up until now.

Redskins isn’t derogatory...if it was, been generations ago.

From what I’m told, words and symbols change...redskins means only the professional football team in Washington DC...nothing derogatory at all.

Yes, chief is used as a derogatory slur. In fact, that is the only term I have ever heard used in a derogatory manner towards a Native American in real life. Hard to figure where you have been all your life if you haven't heard the term "chief" used in a sarcastic and belittling manner. In old movies you would hear "savages", but I've never heard that in real life. In more recent movies, it's "chief." I am not a Trump supporter. Where on earth did you get that? The main thing that has changed for Dan Snyder is that they are hitting him in his pocket book. I just don’t think this is going to go away.

Make the change and publicize it about the “new team”. New narrative, forget about the last 20 years. I seriously doubt they will stay in the Native American genre.

I think in the end there are three big possibilities:

1. Red Tails - cool story, keep fight song, honors a military unit and military

2. Warrior - I think this is sort of boring but Snyder owns the name

3. Red Hawk - can’t go wrong with another bird in the NFL. Fight song the same
