Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
Quote:
It doesn’t matter how he’ll actually play once he is traded, it’s what teams THINK he can do for them NOW. Having 7 Pro Bowls while playing for a crap team will definitely impress. He may have faded some but he has been considered an elite LT for years. So teams can go for the “known” with Trent or draft for the unknown with most draft picks being straight busts or just team bodies until they get released at the end of their first contract. Remember the average career in the NFL is just 4 years. I think it is very reasonable to get a second round pick for Trent with his record. A first is probably a stretch but still a possibility. This will help the Redskins in the draft, increase our cap and say with Rivera’s strategy of only keeping players who want to be here.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I will eat an economy sized plate of crow if he is traded for a first like may think. This article also says he will become the highest paid, that is insanity considering his age and injury history. |

It seems like there's a good chance we will get a second round pick or higher although I would be surprised if we managed to get a first round pick in top 15 for Williams. We can easily draft a one of the top tackles if we get a top 15 1st round pick, which could resolve our LT issue quickly.

And his signature line of "Get off my lawn" has to be added.

I agree. I think the chance of trade for a first rounder draft pick is remote. He wants too much money, he’s too old and teams just don’t trade their first’s that easily. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
Saw a report that the Jets could offer both of their 3rd round picks, would you all take that for Trent??

Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
In a land far away a long time ago during their 17 straight years of 10+ wins the 49ers with offensive line coach Bobb McKittrick had many a 3rd round or later pick evolve into a Pro Bowl lineman, one of them Jesse Sapolu was picked in the no longer existent 11th round. With good drafting and coaching you could replace both TW and Moses with a pair of 3rds. So I would definitely say yes to that trade.
