Re: Who will be the next coach of the Redskins and does it even freakin matter?

Bruce Allen will be fired when the media and fan pressure for Snyder to “do something” to repair the situation gets so high that this sacrifice must be made. That’s what happened to the last lackey, “yes man”, Vinny Cerrato. BA’s job is to be the front man so that Snyder can secretly make decisions about all aspects of the Redskins franchise. When BA is finally fired, he will be replaced by another toadie like Allen or Cerrato.

The unfortunate aspect of this teams location is that instead of there being 10,000 to 20,000 loyal fans showing up to each game - there are 20-50,000 opposing fans filling the seats every game. The NFL would demand action if the stadium was 75% empty every week. But it’s 50-70% full of fans, mostly from the opposition. So Snyder gets paid and the NFL doesn’t see an empty stadium. Also, Snyder paid $800 mill for the team twenty years ago and now it’s worth $3 billion.

The only way this situation changes is if Snyder grows a brain or FINALLY gives control of the team to a GM AND a HC who are NFL trained and NFL smart. O’Connell is a long-shot possibility to be a decent HC but Bruce Allen must be replaced as the GM. BA is just far too incompetent and he also doesn’t understand his many limitations. He’s an anchor that’s sinking this ship.

New coach doesn’t matter.

I would go for a well organized leader of men.

We need a new GM.....is it possible to find a GM that can manage Dan Snyder?

Bruce Allen and Cerrato (the guy before him) are there out front, while Snyder sits behind and makes decisions. As long as Snyder keeps making decisions for the team, using BA as his interference, the team will stay bad. H’s just too incompetent, petty and just a poor leader.

Steve Belichick for defensive coordinator next year? I would def be intrigued by the possibility.

Dare to dream.

Idk, but he might be able to get his foot in the door somewhere else...

I'd be intrigued too, but maybe the Patriots (aka his dad) are grooming him for something bigger.

There is a former Redskins player who has done a fantastic job as a GM, Martin Mayhew. I would hire him and let him find a coach.

Where did he do a fantastic job as GM? When he built those terrible Lions teams after serving as asst. GM to Matt Millen? Sure he's a senior personnel exec. for SF right now but how much credit do you give him for building that roster instead of John Lynch/Kyle S?

Have you ever considered maybe he's been effective in his role because there's literally no pressure on him?

Let me put it like this, are we giving Bruce Allen's assistants any heat for what a shitty job they do assisting Bruce in building our roster? Can you name any of Bruce's assistants without looking them up?

I'm not sold on Mayhew just because he's been an invaluable adviser to John Lynch on how to be a good GM.

First off Bruce Allen is worthlessness POS, Kyle Smith has done a fine job picking players the last 2 years. Mayhew would take over Allen’s role which oversees operations and would know Kyle is doing a fine job and would provide his input. Doesn’t mean what happened in Detroit was all his fault. Belichick was a failure in Cleveland, what happened after that? Mayhem is smart and well respected executive.

Snyder would love this Redskins background but it would take a MONSTER guaranteed contract and a written guarantee from Snyder not to interfere In any personnel decisions.

Personally, I’d like to see Kyle Smith in the GM ROLE. Give him full power. He has a great job drafting player even from the lower ranks.. Look at Harmon for one or Quinn for another. We need every draft pick to count- especially the first one. That #3 must a superstar player to ignite the defense or offense
