Re: Around the NFL Week 5
I could have told you that. It’s a solid team all around.

via @ESPN App http://espn.com/app 40 rushing attempts! Full back TE on the field at the same time. Imagine that. Callahan is such a technician though... Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

Niners are for real, that division will probably have 3 playoff teams.

Re: Around the NFL Week 5
Running the ball and winning goes hand in hand. It will always be a formula that wins.
its foolish to think otherwise...especially when you are playing high octane offenses. Plus the biggest thing is when you posses the ball running it, it gives your defense a breather...its the most overlooked portion of the impact. Green Bay running the ball...suddenly winning. Indy beat KC running the ball. San Fran, pedestrian passing attack...but winning. Redskins last year...pedestrian passing...6-2 start. New Orleans has moved to a more running team. Dallas dominates when it runs. Patrioits have always run the ball well. With our questionable QB play, why aren't we moving to a run based offense?

Re: Around the NFL Week 5
The run game under Callahan has been a failure. Not sure what's going to change now. If we can't run the ball for more than 2.8 yards a pop we're going to see a ton of 3 and outs and the D will be even more stressed.

Re: Around the NFL Week 5
If I was to formulate a reason on why we can't run the ball I would start with the o-line. Also, our run game has never messed with the passing game. Hopefully, that changes.
I understand Bill is an offensive line coach and says he wants to run the ball, but as a head coach in Oakland and at Nebraska, he ran a west coast offense. At Nebraska, I watched him line up with 1st and goal at the two and throw three straight fade routes. On fourth down, he threw a pass to the flat that was returned for a touchdown. He never utilized the run game that Nebraska was always known for. That is why he got walked. |

Re: Around the NFL Week 5
I say start Smallwood, AP is too slow getting off the line and tends to go sideways instead of plowing ahead.

Re: Around the NFL Week 5
The move to Callahan won't change the win/loss column, the team is still garbage. The one thing that will change is locker room will not be as laid back, when you have multiple players over the years talk about how laid back practice is, that is on the HC.

Re: Around the NFL Week 5
We simply can't run the ball right now. The FO would rather give a safety 14 million then get an o-linemen. Plus the guys we have can't run 5 plays without getting a holding call. They can't get movement and can't create running lanes. They were in short yardage against NY and Christian literally got knocked right back on his ass cause he's weak. It's always one guy who fucks up. The line and TE needs an overhaul. It should be the priority for the off season. O-line and a traditional TE or two. I'd go with a 2 TE offense where there's a traditional Y and then an Hback.

We need to find a RB in free agency who can stay healthy. Bryce Love and Darius Guice...2 injury prone wasted draft picks. Im someone who tho doesn't want to give a big contract to a RB...but we need a proven solution. I would go out in Free Agency and get Kareem Hunt. Also, would sign the best blocking TE on the market and draft a TE high.
