Re: TO Wants To Play

something they might think about doing is maintain the suspension for conduct detrimental to the team...for the 4 games allowed...and then consider reinstating him for the remainder of the season (since they will have to pay him anyway) if he hasnt gone crazy again between then and now (fat chance that will happen).

Of course that all depends what happens to the eagles in the next 4 games. If they are playing great football...and remain in the playoff race...they may or may not want to mess with a good thing. On the other hand if their chances of playoffs are already gone...then they may just be looking toward next year...and not want a player back whom they know wont be on the team next year.

Only way i can actually see it happening is if they are still in the hunt....but are really hurting in the passing game...and or if they want to salvage some of T.O's value...so that they can possibly trade him rather than cutting him outright.

Oh and can someone please tell me how to start a new thread...i havnt figured that out yet...

I'd sent him high across the middle on every play and see how long he makes it.

Re: TO Wants To Play

How about an apology to the thousands of fantasy ballers who were counting on him for a championship! (I'm not one of them fortunately.) They were pulling for TO, until he cratered their roster with his juvenile stunts.

Tips for TO:
  1. Let your oily mouthpiece agent do your negotiating for you. Lose the attitude. Antonio Gates got a new contract without the theatrics. Yes, he was suspended, but he got what he wanted and his team values him.
  2. You ain't going to get a long tern contract without a lot of outs for your next empoyer. Go for a one year contract. Then you can do as you please.
  3. If I publically bashed my employer and bad-mouthed the most critical employee, I would expect to be terminated. What makes you so special?
  4. Get a bucket of water, stick your fist in it and pull it out. The hole that's left is how much you will be missed.
  5. Stop listening to your friend Michael Irvin. I don't know if he influenced your "negotiation" tactics with the Eagles, but he opened the door to that Brett Favre question and you just stumbled right in.

I heard the amount of the signing bonus he would have to return was 1.725 M. w/ the suspension pay loss and the bonus he will be required to repay he is out ~2.5 in the short term.

I had heard the opposite this morning from Clayton on ESPN radio. According to him, the Eagles were going to wait a week before filing their demand for the return of the bonus.

Not doubting you - just was wondering where you heard it. Thanx.

Re: TO Wants To Play

I'm glad that Dan Snyder's check book will be closed due to the last two four seasons of spending vicariously for the big named players. If it were not fot Gibbs, TO would be eating at Morton's Steakhouse and calling a press conference in March 2006. Thank God for Joe Gibbs.

On P.T.I today Kornheiser said T.O should come to the Skins! That way he could stick it the the Eagles twice a year. :vomit-smi

I read that article on my way back from D.C. Tony just wants to stir up the pot because he knows to throw that notion out there it will spark more interest from the Giants and Cowboys to pick him up. They can have him.

Re: TO Wants To Play

TO is a disgrace to the NFL. and while there's no doubt as an athlete he's tremendously talented as well as productive on the football field, there's not IMO a place in sports for people who conduct themselves the way he does. While I've never been convinced of the fact that pro athletes should be looked upon as role models "per-say" his conduct is not only detremental to the team, but to the NFL as well. There's no way he should be allowed to play another down until he gets the help he needs. How many teams does he have to blow-up before it's realized that his behavior continues to overshadow his talents in a negative way?

Yeah, I saw his comments after TO's and I was DISGUSTED. His voice alone makes me want to kick him in the throat.

Sal Paolantonio said as much in reporting the Eagles FO reaction to the press conference.

That doesn't necessarily make it so, but apparently that's their current stance.

Re: TO Wants To Play

I thought T.O. sounded sincere - I think they should let him play.

Yeah, right - what a f*&king joke! The Eagles would look like bigger panzies than the cast of "Queer Eye" (not that there's anything wrong with that...). They have made a great decision to bench the f*cktard and if they go back on it at all, they will lose all respect. Stick to your guns Eagles!
