Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith
Alex Smith led the league in downfield passing this year.

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith
Just reading this now. I think you're thinking in terms of a signing bonus. Guaranteed money doesn't have to be up front. It can be stretched out or back loaded. If Smith is getting $23.5M each season, all guaranteed, then that's only $23.5M where as Cousins would have wanted at least $30M OR the tag at $34M.

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith
So are you telling me that Colt can't do the same things that Smith can do? I just have a hard time believing that. Plus on top of that you extend a 34 year old several millions of dollars and you give up Fuller and a 3rd rounder??? I'm sorry but I can wrap my fucking head around that. I just can't. The Redskins just can't get it right. They fucked up w/ McNabb, RG3, Cousins, the salary cap, Scot and now this. It's a combination of fuck ups that I just can't take anymore. Bruce Allen has naked pics of Snyder w/ a cheerleader.

Lets not forget that the man was the #1 overall pick that means he has the talent to do it all on the field, Colt was a 3rd round pick right? I mean its not even close bro

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith
If Colt McCoy could do the same things as Alex Smith he'd be doing it and not riding the pine as a career backup. Please stop bringing up Colt, it's just not a realistic argument.

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith
What pisses me off is that you don’t trade your second best CB and a 3rd round pick for a 33 year old QB on the downside of his career and give him lots of money. Iwould have offered 3rd and that’s it. Management sucks!!

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith
Once again when it's all said and done and we are in the mix for a deep playoff run next season everyone will say Jay and co. did a great job. We lost a good 3rd CB for a proven winner at the most important pos in football. I'll take that everyday

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith
For the record I do not think Alex Smith is a significant down grade at qb as many have argued he might even be slightly better. I just do not like giving up the talent and the draft pick to get someone who is not the qb of the future. It is a lateral move with a loss of future talent in Fuller and a draft pick.
