not insanely but still not equal. All that being said I was pissed about this last night but have since come around. I think that Smith will be better in Jay's system than KC was and this gives us freedom in the draft (my hope is move back 6-8 spots pick up another 2nd and draft Lamar Jackson to groom) and plenty of money to resign Breeland. and or Zach Brown. Breeland is equal to fuller if not better and we are DEEP at CB. |

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith
I'm dumb when it comes to how guaranteed money affects the cap, but that being said, does the deal with Alex Smith free up money to possibly re-sign guys like Zach Brown?

I'm no cap expert but I did see Albert Breer say yes it helps and they can go get a couple guys in FA now

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith
It says 71 mil guaranteed but does that mean fully? We won't know until March 14th. It will be less cap space than what we would have had to sign KC for however.

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith
Just reading this now. I think you're thinking in terms of a signing bonus. Guaranteed money doesn't have to be up front. It can be stretched out or back loaded. If Smith is getting $23.5M each season, all guaranteed, then that's only $23.5M where as Cousins would have wanted at least $30M OR the tag at $34M.

Fuller is already a better player than Breeland. Also, Breeland isn't a good locker room dude, he has an attitude issue.
