Exactly. If anybody thinks he deletes his twitter account that his play will improve they don't understand social media or football. If he was winning we would all be following him. Lol.

Re: Jay Gruden you are our only hope

Dumb article. Who the heck knows if it's over? Those stats mean zilch, as RGIII has physical gifts that vastly exceed those of anyone on the list (whether he is able to exploit them may be another story). Just a writer looking for an attention-grabbing story.

This is how all his pressers should go. Maybe he watched some film of Belichick's press conferences the past couple days.

^ I see Reid is already spinning this into a negative.

Re: Jay Gruden you are our only hope

They were ripping him and the PR dept on sirius NFL. Said he sounded like a jerk, and thought the PR dept put him in a bad spot. They did mention how BB gets away with it.

Re: Jay Gruden you are our only hope

analyze what RG3 and the team do on the field.

this over-analysis of every single sentence and word is pointless.

RG3 didnt say anything entirely bad or wrong.

Gruden should have never been so specific in his post-game presser talking about how RG3 took a 3 step drop when he should have taken 1 etc. i know he was super pissed RG3 shit the bed and made calling any plays useless .. but your an NFL head coach.

Gruden should have just said "we have a lot of work to do from the top down". period. stfu after that.

gruden cant let his dislike of RG3 be so public.

** i really like gruden so far. seems like he is calling plays and getting guys open. if i had to choose, it would be gruden over RG3 every single time.

It's more about correlation than cause and effect.

Thats what I was getting at. There is a correlation between drug abuse and crime. There is not, imo, a correlation between tweets and struggling in game.

Re: Jay Gruden you are our only hope

I think Gruden was ordered to start RGIII for the Minnesota game. I think Gruden wanted McCoy to continue as HIS starter and was forced behind closed doors to change to RGIII. Does this dysfunction sound familiar?
Then as a good solider he did as told and publicly backed RGIII as his starter without revealing this unfortunate situation.
I think this is the reason why Gruden said what he said in the presser.
Gruden does not dislike RGIII as just stated, he wants to win now. I think Gruden is frustrated and pissed that he was forced to start RGIII and the outcome has resulted in two loses in game that SHOULD HAVE BEEN easy wins against two mediocre teams, with RGIII playing like shit.
Gruden just like some of the players are playing for their jobs/lives. If this level of play we saw out of RGIII in the TB game continues, many of more of these people will be without a job in a few months. So naturally this is a big deal. Right?
In that context, and only in that context I have no problem hearing the TRUTH in a press conference.

Do you have any basis for this belief? If you do, I would be grateful to hear it. And I am not saying that it isn't possible (it may well be), but there's so much floating around that simply isn't substantiated. This seems more like belief than an assertion of "TRUTH," as you say.

Here is part of the problem. We scored 26 against Minny, including an 80 yard 4th quarter drive when Minny had driven for a TD themselves. Only to let Minny do a second length of the field drive in the 4th quarter to beat us. The defense gave up 15 in the 4th quarter, they straight up crapped the bed as bad as RG3 did against Tampa Bay.

We win that game pretty easily if a crappy offense led by a rookie QB missing their best player doesnt score 15 points in the 4th quarter with not 1, but 2 70+ yard 4th quarter drives.

For as much as people keep referencing what Cooley said about RG3 this week. In that same article Cooley says he thinks RG3 played pretty well against Minny. He certainly wasnt the reason we lost.

I wonder how many John Becks we have to go through to get a franchise QB? I don't think Gruden will find that QB before he is gone.

Much of this is quite accurate. I would add he was forced to start Griff before Texans game

What you describe is not dysfunctional. It is standard management practice in countless businesses. Gruden has bosses and he is obligated implement the instructions of those bosses.

What we have here is Round 105 of discussing what we think the management structure of the Redskins ought to be. If we have a HC who has complete authority (Shanahan) then we argue that there ought to be a GM over him. If we have a HC reporting to a GM (Gruden) then we argue that the GM shouldn't tell the HC what to do.
