Guess I am too then. Maybe the Redskins died (and were only briefly resurrected) when Joe Gibbs left. One more "charlie foxtrot" drama of a Redskins HC , and I feel like just being an NFL aficionado, not a fan of any team. Rooting for the "Daniel Snyders" sucks.

I'd be a little surprised if the Redskins even allow the interview since they are in the midst of a process themselves. They may block it.

Re: Let's talk about the front office situation

Allen did say that there's a chance at adding someone else (maybe it's Doug Williams) to the front office. Maybe this means Brown moves to Tampa Bay and Williams takes over that position. Maybe it means once the head coach has been chosen, Allen is promoted, Brown is promoted, and Williams takes Brown's place - or Williams comes in as the new GM? Who knows? I just think there's someone else coming into the front office before it's all said and done.

What about A.J. Smith? He's already collecting a paycheck as a "front office executive." What exactly are they hiring for again?

It would be easier to block if Brown already had the title of GM. Just sayin'.

He's a consultant. It's not exactly a full time gig for him.

As long as Allen isn't selecting the players, I'm fine with the setup. If Brown/Campbell/AJ are making the calls on players, than I don't really care.

I imagine Allen will be involved and have final say. Otherwise, he'd be Team President and promote Brown or Campbell to GM.

Re: Let's talk about the front office situation

From all I have read, Campbell, Brown, Smith and Williams all have very good talent evaluation skills.

The question I have is whether this FO office arrangement is an unwieldy multiheaded beast or if BA is really simply conducting a well-tuned orchestra that has, to date, been held back from playing its best. If these for talent evaluators work well together to give BA top quality talent to choose from, all will be well. If it's just in-fighting and "Pick Me"ism, well - same song, different day.

Two weeks ago I was hoping he'd be our John Elway, now not so much. Haven't heard anything negative about him as a front office executive, I hope he can continue his winning ways in our FO.

Re: Let's talk about the front office situation

So a guy in my office is convinced that hiring Williams is just cronyism at its worst and that Williams wouldn't have a shot at an NFL job but for the Skins hiring him. Is hiring Williams just a "callous and obvious attempt to appeal to past glory"? Or does Williams have a real role to fill?

Any thoughts?
