IMO Lovie is less of a risk. We can't afford to take big risks at this point. Lovies an excellent proven head coach who commands respect. Pair him with an offensive coordinator who can get rg3 to accept coaching and become a better player, and we have a recipe for success

We can't go much lower than this, why not take a risk?

Shanahan was supposed to be a safe pick.

I'm really not locked in on any one guy. I'm more interested in seeing what we do at GM first.

This is my #1 concern atm too. It all starts at GM and what direction he wants to go with the team.

So as long as the new GM chooses a risky HC...you're good. Got it.

I agree. But to an extent it's somewhat contingent on what kind of coach you want to hire. For example, if we wanted to bring in Jon Gruden, then Allen would just hire him and we'd have a similar structure as we do now. I would imagine if you want Lovie, you hire him and let him pick a GM. Otherwise, you hire a GM and let him pick a coach.

There is no safe pick when it comes to selecting a Head Coach.

A coach with a "proven" track record is just as risky as a coordinator, a college coach or any other type of coach.
