Gannon was an average QB for over a decade in this league. Good for him that he was able spend the last years of his career on a high note. But he only played half a season here (the Petitbon year), his sixth I believe in the NFL, and had given no indication before hand he would be anything special and didn't for several years after that.

In fact in those 8 games he played with the Skins he had 704 yards passing (5.6 ypa), with 3 TDs and 7 INTs. Last year in 9 games Brunell had 1194 yards passing (5.0 ypa) with 7 TDs and 6 INTs. If you're going to say we should have given Gannon a chance you might as well say the same for Brunell.
