I know our play wasn't good but still that was highway robbery. refs need to be investigated. maybe Mara paid them
To put this in perspective of how bad that mistake by the refs was, if this exact same scenario happened in baseball:

Bottom 9th, bases loaded, Nationals up to bat and down by 1.
Batter has 2 strikes on him.
Batter takes outside pitch, called a ball.
Next pitch hits batter to bring home tying run.
Umpire says "You know, I think the pitch before that last one might have hit the outside corner, I'm changing it to strike 3. You're out, New York wins.

Bottom line, ONCE ANOTHER PLAY IS RUN, YOU CANNOT GO BACK AND CHANGE THE CALL OF A PREVIOUS PLAY! YOU MUST GO WITH WHAT WAS CALLED ON THE FIELD!

Now I know how Raiders fans must have felt in the "tuck rule" game. That was the worst screw-up by refs I've seen happen to our team. Inexcusable and once again, Mara gets help. The Giants always seem to get help. I don't think it's a coincidence.

I have no doubt that this game would have gone to ovetime, if we didn't go for 2. RGIII has been very reliable in last-minute drives and overtimes....he just finds a way to get it done when the game is on the line. Unfortunately, we're not in the position to win often enough this year.

Miserable performances by the OL and receivers, to me those two units are glaring reasons why the offense struggles to maintain any consistency. I'm tired of seeing Polumbus and Chester getting schooled and how many dropped passes can you have in one night? Unreal.

On defense what else can you say, the cupboard is so bare outside of Hall, Rak, Kerrigan, Cofield, and probably Riley. All the rest are scrubs and shouldn't even be starting.

Hey at least that 2nd rd pick will be a high one eh?
What are you talking about Matty, it's all the coaches' fault. Just replace them and everything will be okay.

Re: Skins Giants postgame

That debacle at the end was just pathetic by the refs. Never seen that before.

Couple positives:

Orakpo looked great last night. Dominated Beatty

RG3 looked good and Garcon had a decent game.

Amerson has had a great rookie season, thought he was good last night.

With good refs tonight, we still lose, but at least the game isn't a complete and total CF at the end.
I put about 70% of it on the Head Linesman and 20% on Triplette, and 10% on the umpire and Line judge. I ref semi-pro and we use NFL rules and mechanics.

The head linesman has no business telling the chain crew to move until the ref gives a first down signal, unless it is so obvious that Helen Keller could see it was a first down. After the chains had moved, and the box change to 1, you see Triplette trying to get the HL's attention and yelling 3rd down. When it wasn't fixed, he should have stopped the game to reset the chains and box.

The umpire and line judge seeing it was close, should have yelled to Triplette to come take a closer look and possibly measure. With the game on the line it is customary to give a measurement as a courtesy.

I know 2 nfl officials (not all that well, have met and talked to them at clinics). They have explained how they are graded and the implications. The entire crew will get hammered for this, they won't get fired, but I seriously doubt they come anywhere close to a play-off game.

It took Rak a while to get going this year coming off that injury but I think now it's clear we need to lock him up for the long term.

Re: Skins Giants postgame

You think the woman behind Mike is talking about the fiasco with the refs, but she's really talking about Mike's tenure here in DC.

So he beat out a shitty LT. Also, didn't some of the teams the past few weeks sport backups LTs?

I'm for signing him, but it would have to be a average salary. (much like his play)
