Lions fan here,, and I have to let out a big LOL at all the Skins fans scared of Detroit right now.

You guys realize we have never won at Washington, right? Never as in never, EVER. You will not be going 0-3.

Welcome!

I'm with what OkieSkins (that's what I'm calling him now) said. Coupled with the fact we have no offense, this game could be closer than you expect.

Re: Skins vs Packers post game thread

We have the talent to win, sure, and on paper we should, but our entire CS has their heads up their collective butts when it comes to offensive playcallling. We have a QB with a monster arm and the best WR in the league, yet last Sunday it was all dink-and-dunk. We SHOULD light up your secondary like Independence Day but I don't think our OC will have the balls to call those kind of plays. Just put one safety deep on Calvin and all of a sudden it is nothing but two yard runs and five yard slant routes to Pettidrop.

Bush could make a big difference if he's 100%, though. I am just not feeling that great after losing to Carson Palmer.

The problem on defense is Haslett, he has talent on defense to be top 12. This guy has been getting a pass for the last couple of years, the man cannot adjust. His job is to teach how to tackle and fire up his D.

Probably not the talent.

Our secondary is a mess. Rookies and no true #1 CB is a huge red flag. CJ has the potential to destroy Josh Wilson or D. Hall 1 on 1. And yeah CJ could destroy most CBs out on the edge, but I'd feel more comfortable with a Richard Sherman type vs. a D. Hall.

Fletcher looks old and lost out in the middle of the field.

The only thing I feel comfortable is our front 4. They can bring the heat.

I'd say we have the potential to be middle of the field defensively right now. Not top 10 but within the top 20.

I agree.

It is better to get rid of a player a year early than a year late.

My opinion may be unpopular but I think we are a year late with Fletch. He's an awesome defensive QB...but that's about it.

I have to think that if Gregg Williams was running this defense, we would not be this bad. But I still think it's a talent issue. Some of the guys we have just aren't that good... Wilson, Fletcher, Cofield, Bowen, Goldston, Orakpo, Rambo, Doherty...these players are just not very good or not playing up to their capabilities. And father time has slapped Fletcher upside the head. He look so slow out there the last two weeks.

Would take Gregg Williams in a heartbeat over this defense, even now with his tarnished reputation. But realistically it'd never work. Shanny has been through a million D coordinators and doesn't get along with anyone. I think Haslett has kept his job because not many guys would work with Mike so who do you replace Haslett with?

I don't think Shanahan is going to have to worry about who his DC is going to be. He's not going to survive this if the team keeps playing this poorly.

Don't hear a lot about Wr's not getting seperation, Holes not as big for Alf, Int OL getting crushed without Read Option.. Talk about that

With all the talk about RGIII, I feel some valid points are brought up here. It's not just RGIII that's struggling.

Agreed. If the team continues to look uninspired, unprepared and play undisciplined football I think Shanny should hit the road mid year, but regardless this should be his last season unless we see huge improvement across the board. The succession plan has become a complete joke, given Kyle's apparent lack of rapport with RG and almost total inability scheme anything beyond the RO or what we saw with McNabb, Rex, Beck. This is such a vanilla unless RG is running with his hair on fire. Time to move on. Just think of the quality coaches we've missed on the last few years between Harbaugh, Pete Carol, Reid.

Hell, I'd take John Gruden just for his positivity and sideline energy at this point. This team is dead right now. Sad to watch.

I know the perfect D Coordinator for this team, but sadly he works for the Jets still.

Exactly, some of the folks in here don't want to put any blame on the coaching, but sorry, if a team comes out looking like crap in two consecutive games, poor preparation on the practice field and in the tape room and planning sessions are to blame as much as execution. With the exception of the two rook DBs, we basically have the same team. They are professionals and obviously know how to play football as they are the defending divisional champs. If the problem is our diva QB, then the HC benches his ass. Right now this kid might just end up a big of a bust as Shuler was if he doesn't get his act together. Shanahan has to man up and take control of the team. Damn I wish we could find another George Allen type or Ditka type that wouldn't stand for a diva.
