I think its because it makes no sense for him to even be on the team, but if we signed I think we would because he would play some significant role.

Cool, didnt see that. I just need something to freak out on. Merriweather at Free Safety would fill that need.

That's a bit over zealous.

Now that hes making the right amount of money, there is no reason for him not to be. Hes our best DB and will play #1 this season.

I did it simply because I think starting Amerson will be better for the team, especially in the long term. We need to develop this kid and see what he can do.

He's on 21 years old, by the way.

If he falters, Hall gets his starting role back. I thought if we drafted a starting CB, Hall could move to FS but it's crowded back there now.

Who is slated at FS? Merriwether, Doughty and evidently Thomas all play SS. Although I wonder if Merriwether can play both since he's listed as FS on the official website. Otherwise it's Bernstine, Pugh, Rambo or Gomes at FS I guess.

Our coaching staff is smarter than that.

(although Rambo could handle it)

IMO no one right now. We have three rooks who have never played a down on an NFL field. Wayyyyy too early to be making a call on a starter.

I agree.

In other news: I hate the offseason, still.

Re: Secondary is a Primary

I still think we sign Jammer and maybe Lynch.

My final week 1 redskins secondary would be:
CB--Dhall, Biggers, Wilson, Amerson, Crawford
S--doughty, Rambo, Thomas, meriweather, Pugh, lynch, Jammer

Re: Secondary is a Primary

7 safeties is a lot.

I'd trim it down to about 5.
