Re: The Spitting Ejection
By the way Roy Williams sucks, and we proved that TWICE at the first Redskins Dallas game, where he basically lost the game for guys. Most overrated safety at the probowl, and Taylor is better skillwise any day.

Joe didn't even consider the possibility that maybe, JUST MAYBE, he missed something that the ref did not. Instead, he went off like a bat out of hell about how horrible the call was, and how it would affect the game, blah, blah, blah! Tayor is a punk, and will always be! Mark my words, in the offseason he will be caught shooting some gangster down at the pimp house. |

Re: The Spitting Ejection
Dude if there was a Cowboy in the exact position Taylor was in the game, you would have been intially upset too as well. If all you saw was some other teams player hitting your teams player, and he got the flag. Well thats what the nation saw, and the annoucers also made clear there is probably something else going on. So right now your argument is null and void, and I basically see it as a way for you to channel your frustration that the Cowboys are far more inferior than the Redskins this season. It is 4am, I have proven my point, good night.

And yea, we are inferior this season... but I take the same approach with pro ball as I do with college ball. Redskins are the worst team ever, the evil of all evil, until the bowl games (playoffs). I think the NFC east was the toughest division in football this year, and now it is up to the Redskins and Giants to prove it. Jaksonville doesn't (didn't) belong, among others. And make no mistake, the Cowboys will be back nasty next year! HOOK EM! |

Re: The Spitting Ejection
Sounds bad...
from his teammates' quotes, it sounds like it happened: "I saw that, and I'm thinking, 'We don't need that right now,' " said Redskins defensive end Phillip Daniels. "He has to realize this is the playoffs." Not good Sean, especially after i believed you the first time! |

Re: The Spitting Ejection
I haven't read the entire thread, but Pittman should have been ejected too. He threw a punch. I love Sean Taylor, but he is a hothead. I think I saw the realization in his eyes that he knows that he did something wrong on the sidelines after the incident...

Had there been clear evidence of Taylor popping Pittman with a loogie (a la Romanowski vs. Stokes), I'd be disgusted with him. That doesn't exist. There were HD cameras on the players, and no one has given any evidence of a malicious act. I saw two players jawing - which happens every game - and Pittman hitting. It isn't out of the realm of possibility that Carey threw the flag on Pittman, who claimed spitting as his alibi, and hit Taylor with the penalty.

Re: The Spitting Ejection
I've watch that every way I can and I see "NO SPITTING".
Pittmans a punk and was frustrated with getting knocked in the mouth and cried and lied and his home town Ref threw the flag. BFD It will be Shawn Alexander spitting.....OUT HIS TEETH...next week. Hail Skins

Re: The Spitting Ejection
A flag is NOT proof.
From NFL.com about last year. " Taylor was investigated last season for spitting at Cincinnati receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh. The NFL carefully reviewed tapes to determine whether Taylor should be fined, but they found no video evidence to support the allegation."

Bottom line is, none of these guys are perfect human beings. Stop applying higher standards to them, because it's not true of guys on your team any more than it is to guys on ours. |

There is something to be said for a player with a rep for getting into situations like this being baited by other players and/or not getting the benefit of the doubt from the refs. I'm not saying it happened here, but we've seen it in the NFL and even the NBA, where certain players whose checkered past follows them every where they go, get called for things they may not have actually done. Taylor is probably approaching that status, and it wouldn't surprise me in the least to see more players come after him and try to take advantage of the situation. What the team captains need to do is get him back to the huddle as soon as a play is blown dead and keep him away from any potentially bad situations, if that's what it takes. |

Re: The Spitting Ejection
As other threads have noticed, Len Pasquarelli is no fan of this team. However, even he says in his wrap-up that Taylor was "ejected in the third quarter for allegedly spitting" on Pittman (emphasis mine). If Pasta is giving Taylor more credit than the members of this site, we all need to take a step back, breathe deeply, and think for a moment.

Re: The Spitting Ejection
I don't have a problem with the ejection, I believe if he actually did it, he should have been. He didn't seem to upset that he was tossed. I do have a problem with no flag being throw for the TB player smacking him upside the head.
