Maybe its just to give Dotson a kick up the a$$. AS was said elsewhere, he looks like he's either #2 on the depth (if he pulls his socks up) or he's out of the door. DQ said he liked what he saw from Bryant when he was with the Cowboys, and he was a good player until he got suspended/injured. Purely insurance at this point, but if he's rejuvenated...

He was suspended from the 2016 through 2018 seasons for violating the League's illegal drugs policy. After that, he's had a few NFL opportunities that didn't work out for him. He is now 32 years old. I don't understand this move at all unless he can kick field goals. Despite the above, I wish him well. Dotson and Forbes should find a flag football league where they can play.

This seems like just a depth signing for purposes of the preseason. It's hard to imagine this guy making the team. Really not much to see here, I would think.

Any signing during this time of the year is basically this, no need to overthink or overreact about it.

I think Bryant is more than just a camp body/depth guy, it's a clear signal something is up in the WR room. Dotson playing considerably more snaps than anyone else against the Jets is another clue. His seat may not be hot but it's warming up.

Could the FO have been showcasing Dotson in the Jets game?

Or they're just trying to figure out how he fits in this offense... reportedly Kingsbury favors big WRs or speed guys... Dotson really isn't either one. I'd still be surprised if he isn't on the week 1 roster.

He's plenty fast he's just not a burner that you always have to worry about taking the top off a defense.

I really hope dotson turns it around. He's a local kid for me. So last year i bit the bullet and got his jersey. Loved his reels coming out of college...i know that doesnt always translate to nfl success, but im really hoping everything works out for him here and he and terry provide a 1-2 punch at receiver.

Ouch, Quinn just confirmed that the team is still figuring out who is the #2 WR.
