Keeping the 3rd rounder, signing a vet to compete w/ Colt and drafting someone was the smarter thing to do. But hey, Bruce knows how manage QB's of an NFL franchise. Just look at his past. |

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith
Alex Smith is clearly the best QB the Redskins could've picked up in this offseason. No way Kirk was signing a LTD with us. Just get over that fact. Nobody likes the idea of giving up Kendall Fuller - I sure don't, but do you really think KC was willing to give up Alex Smith for a ham sandwich? (Well, maybe Andy Reid would've taken the ham sandwich as well!)

you will go wanting. Gronk is injured alot now kelce is the best tight end, kareem hunt was top 3 rb in production, tyrek hill can not be covered down field. Smith will break your heart. The long ball stats are an illusion. He completes wobbly duck 30 yard passes that others would have scored tds on. WR waits for smith duck db catches up to hill makes stop. FG instead of TD.Outsiders like you see stats regarding 30 yd completion and think he's good. May GOD have mercy on you guys but smith as your qb will drain your soul. |

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith
People are using how we fucked this up years ago as part of their judgment on this trade. That was already done and over with.
In a vacuum, I think the team did the best they could, and they must've known that either Kirk was absolutely leaving or absolutely not accepting any thing less than an insane contract. We resign Zach Brown, draft Denzel Ward and Sony Michel (or similar players) in the 1st 2 rounds, and bring in a good FA LG and lets get after it.

How do you compartmentalize it without taking it into consideration how they screwed up years ago? So they did their job for once and tried to clean up their mess and we are supposed to be happy with it? It reminds of the saying "we are trying to make chicken parm out of chicken shit" |

Plenty of Skins fans were less than enamored with Kirk too. Just par for the course friend. |

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith
I know I don't know cousins. As an outsider looking in I saw cousins as a guy who persevered the underdog who made it. But the contract demands that were floated around seemed unbelievable. I suppose it's a grass always greener kind of thing. Whatever your qb doesn't do well you want the opposite.

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith
So what? We didn't get appreciably worse, either. Kirk was leaving. We needed a QB. Colt was/is not the answer. We had competition for Smith, so we had to pay more. End of story.
