Re: NFL Network: Bears' Briggs, 31st Pick for Skins' 6th Pick?
It looks like this thing is going down.
I am on the fence on this. I don't think we need him but on the other hand our linebacker play was atrocious last year and the unit's health was poor overall. I hope they run some 3-4 if they make this move. I can't argue with the talent of the player (I don't think anyone can). Briggs is a stud. My main problem was that I was happy with the offseason approach this year as they stayed away from the "splash". This move has Snyder's fingerprints all over it. It was almost like he woke up and said, "What the hell am I doing? It is almost April and the league isn't talking about us!" Also, I think the writing may be on the wall for Washington after this season. How can they keep three very high paid LB's? I love Washington and he is one of the last guys that I would want to see gone. Well, the last piece is the D-line. The LB's are stacked and the secondary (before any injuries) looks pretty good. If they do not find a difference maker on the D-line with the 31st pick, they are just pissing in the wind once again. Carter needs to have a huge year next year, too. They never leave themselves any margin for error. |
