Redskins vs. Eagles week
With the last home game at FedEx on the horizon this Sunday for the season. What are your thoughts going into this match up against the eagles.
Other than the obvious....no playoffs. How do you think the team will respond? Lay an egg OR come out and play with some heart and get a win/spoiler against a philly team that has some MO. Week 15 |
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles week
I think it'd be kinda sad that they would have more motivation to being the spoiler than having motivation in previous games to make the playoffs. I think they will lose, although I would like to see a more average rather than mediocre game for the offense.
|
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles week
I think that with the playoffs all but gone the Skins will be looking to play spoiler which is really the only interest I guess I have in this game. I'd like to see Zorn get these rookie WR's in the game and give them a chance to see some real playing time.

Re: Redskins vs. Eagles week
Like many of you I have played team sports throughout my childhood, and into my high school years. If I had any talent, I would have continued into college. I also played in many competitive leagues of one kind or another since then.
I currently serve as an asst. coach on my son's High school Lacrosse team as I have for the past couple of years. I have always LOVED the juice! The adrenalin that comes with....competing. I honestly cannot understand the concept of .....being flat? My God, these guys compete at the highest level on earth. How can there be a problem "getting up for a game"??? I don't get that........... |

Re: Redskins vs. Eagles week
at this point I'm actually hoping to see the Eagles advance 1 because they are playing with heart 2. Because I would like to see them advance in the playoffs and eventually knock the Giants and or cowboys out. With that said I would like to see our rookies in the game. Basically see if there is any depth to our team. Also like to see JC let it all hang out! I wouldn't mind seeing our backup QB as well. Win or lose doesn't matter at this point. We need to see what we have. One more thing I would limit Portis to 1 quarter and play our other backs.
|
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles week
I'm in the championship game of my fantasy football league( Money League), I need portis to have 45 carries for 300 yards and 5 TDs. Anything else is not acceptable.
The team has to go out and win. They need to impose their will on the eagles. They are playing for pride right now and I expect them to go all out. |

You may be right, but.....I cannot believe that. Every one of these guys has MANY years invested prior to becoming a pro that they played with a level of passion for the game I cannot even understand. It's difficult for me to believe you can just turn that off. Anyway............ |

Depth of the Skins |

who knows but i certainly hope to see effort from everyone who plays.. .........

Re: Redskins vs. Eagles week
28-10 Iggles win :( :vomit:
|
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles week
this game probably goes a long way in determining if Zorn stays. if last week the skins couldn't muster any emotion, why would this week be any different?
|
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles week
im wondering if its even worth watching. besides the fact i need Portis or Cooley to get in the endzone, and Fletcher/Landry to score some defense for my Fantasy playoff game. :(
This seasons come down to such a pitiful situation. AND i believe Zorns gone. regardless of what we do sunday. |
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles week
28-10 Iggles win :( :vomit:
That's pretty much what I predict/how I feel.
The teams has shown no heart the last few weeks so I really can't imagine them just turning it on this week. I'd love to see them come out with passion and fire and play inspired football but I just don't think it will happen. What a strange season this has been. |
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles week
The eagles are younger, hungrier and more talented than we are. They should win. But anything can happen.
|
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles week
Let's just say it's either win or bust for Zorn and his staff. I get a feeling the coaches are going to get a massive overhaul when this season is over. As for the Eagles... If we play like we did against the Bengals, and noting the fact the Eagles beat the Giants. The Eagles are just going to have their way with us if we continue to play like we have.
Redskins the past 5 out of 6 games = Set sail for fail. The SF game next week is actually what's intriguing me. SF is better than the Bengals. And yet SF isn't very good. I actually wanna see our last game more than I wanna see this one. |
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles week
The Eagles have come roaring back into playoff contention and are riding high. Our team is down in the dumps, and couldn't even get pumped up over the prospects of playing the Chumps from Cincinnati.
Eagles will roll over this team that plays like they can't wait for the offseason. |

Looks like your goose is cooked in both games!!!!! Portis will be lucky to get 100 and one TD. My vote is for them to lay an egg. Why? They didn't show up against the hapless BenGALS, and laid an egg in Cincy, so why not lay down and die against the soaring Eagles!!! |
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles week
Personally... I hope we kick the Iggles ass and I would hope the players feel the same way.

Shoot, they couldn't win for Sean Taylor, maybe they can win for Sammy!!!!!! |
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles week
The Redskins, as a team, will play much better this week.
Unless the Eagles lay an egg, they'll win this one. I'll say they take it by thirteen points. |
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles week
REDSKINS WIN now that it doesnt matter anymore there is no pressure{let er rip zorn!
|
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles week
I am going to inject some excitement into this Sunday...instead of watching the Redskins I will be watching paint dry. The past 4 weeks have just knocked the fan right out of me. The bad thing is that I have season tickets next year and I have no desire to watch piss poor execution on offense.
With that being said, nothing is going to change for the Skins this week. Eagles put up 30 against us and our Offense fails to find the Endzone more than once...again. F**k, this is depressing... somebody wake me up when we have a team. |
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles week
angry, angry, angry. sit back and take a deep breath. now come on back. the skins to most of us are like being addicted. we swear we will not do again. but then every Sunday, there we are watching the same old soap opera called the redskins
|
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles week
These guys are done. The "stars" have checked out now that there's nothing left to play for (heck, they barely seemed interested last week in a must win game) but they will definitely be ready with their "we are better than this" quotes.

Re: Redskins vs. Eagles week
Nice...why am I not surprised that no one here OR let me say very few at best give us a chance this Sunday (Doesn't sound like from the few posts I've read we should even play the game). For the record, I'll make the stand that we not only will defend our home turf THIS weekend but we will WIN this game.
This team has not packed it in. Unlike most of the wanna be fans OR fans when we are winning and/or it's convenient on this board. I'll be there in my seats rooting my team on as we take philly out of the playoff race. My opinion ONLY.....if you don't like it TOUGH FCKING SHIT! |

If we're not going to get that playbook wide open now, then when? The weather is supposed to suck (rain/snow and cold), but I say just have some fun. Tight conservative bullshit is not what I want to see. |
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles week
i hope we win. i always pull for my team no matter what. and always will.
|
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles week
Anyone who thinks that the Skins will win is delirious.
The eagles have a better team. We have a talented team with little leadership and NO drive. It's embaressing. We should be 2 - 12 right now. We are lucky to have the record we have. Zorn is not a good coach and after this year, I do not think Campbell is the answer either -- however he does deserve a chance. With a good coach and leadership, the skins have a chance next year. But the Eagles will make us look silly this week. |
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles week
It will be just our luck that the Redskins will come out and play flawless football, and we'll all say "Where the hell has that been for the past month"
But it's more likely that the Eagles will pull away in the 2nd half, yet I think (wishful thinking?) one of our rookie receivers is going to have a breakout game. By the way, apparently Rogers will be the nickel back for the rest of the season. |

I highly doubt Springs will be back, but I also doubt D'Angelo Hall and Rogers are both getting paid this offseason. Interesting. I, too, have the feeling that Kelly or Thomas will have a big game. I've had that feeling all week for some reason. |

And Blache was very clear on his starting corners. BLU & Hall. Not so sure I fully understand the message behind the madness on that call. I would have to assume he feels they are our best two corners, when healthy. When Los is having his best season as a Redskin IMO, other than he needs to learn how to catch the football. And BLU the usual can't stay on the field. |

ON CARLOS ROGERS...this was the yahoo official report. Tue, Dec 16: CB Carlos Rogers, who supplanted the oft-injured Shawn Springs as Washington's No. 1 cornerback this year, was told shortly before kickoff Sunday that he would be a backup against Cincinnati. "Carlos has been sick," defensive coordinator Greg Blache said. "He practiced Thursday and Friday, but he went to the doctor Wednesday to get blood tests. He hadn't had anything solid (to eat). Last week, we pumped him with IVs to get him through the game." Rogers was surprised by the move and said nothing about feeling ill on Sunday. "It's coach Blache's decision," Rogers said. "All I do is take my snaps when I get them and just go with it. I don't know. Maybe I need to evaluate myself and see what I been doing wrong. Can't sit there and weep about it or pout. I'm not going to worry about it." (Yahoo! Sports) |
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles week
Rogers has struggled in tackling for the first time in his career, but the only reason that this makes sense is that Blache has an unhealthy man-crush on Hall. Which, if true, wouldn't be surprising at all.
Hall hasn't exactly done anything to make me say that he's undeserving to start, but most teams make you earn your way onto the field, and this team has basically handed a future role in the defense to him in a handbasket. |
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles week
maybe they are playing Hall to see if he is deserving of a new contract?
|

As for Rogers, I get the sense they're showcasing Hall, mainly for themselves, to try to get a better sense of his true value |
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles week
Now the stress of the first half and struggling to make the play offs are over. With nothing to lose all the players start playing more losely. They allow the points to soar. for whatever reason our offense kicks in this weekend and we are left scratching our collective heads. Zorn saves his job by simply doing nothing different and allowing the players to .....EXECUTE. Either that or he bombs the last two games and Snyder calls for anyone to be executed. LOL.
