This might mean that the reports that Fabian Washington was on the trading block might have been right, can't wait to see what goes down. |
Re: Breathe a sigh of relief: Raiders agree to trade for DeAngelo Hall
Interesting move for the Raiders. As for the Falcons, they don't get the 1st rounder they wanted but they do now have three high to mid picks in round 2.
|
Re: Breathe a sigh of relief: Raiders agree to trade for DeAngelo Hall
ST21:
Fabian Washington was a high draft pick but hasn't set the world on fire since arriving in the NFL. Maybe he's worth keeping around as a nickel back but he is part of the reason that the Raiders defense was "less than robust" last year. |
Re: Falcons Agree to Trade Hall to Raiders for '08 2nd Round Pick
i would have given the 2nd rounder

Here is another link talking about the DeAngelo Hall trade, but its kinda long, Raiders working on deal for DeAngelo Hall

i think the contract price also had something to do with it ... classy location. |
Re: Falcons Agree to Trade Hall to Raiders for '08 2nd Round Pick
Where does this signing put Asomugha? Forget Hall, I would trade Asomugha for a first round pick in a heart beat.
|
Re: Falcons Agree to Trade Hall to Raiders for '08 2nd Round Pick
WTF? I thought the giants were willing to trade their 1st. For a talent such as Hall, a 2nd is too low. The raiders are dumb as shit with everything they do.

The picks are only three slots apart and the Giants obiously backed out. From that perspective its not really to big a deal. |
Re: Falcons Agree to Trade Hall to Raiders for '08 2nd Round Pick
9mill per for a possible locker room cancer? bad deal.
talent's right, but guaranteeing that much money on a guy that might cause problems is a real gamble. |
Re: Falcons Agree to Trade Hall to Raiders for '08 2nd Round Pick
Yeah he can have all the talent in the world but when he is busy getting consecutive 15 yarders and pissing the entire lockeroom off all that talent pale's.

Brandon Lloyd...cough...cough |
Re: Falcons Agree to Trade Hall to Raiders for '08 2nd Round Pick
I always liked the raiders, and since d. hall is a hokie, I want to like him. I just don't. He was a problem at VT & Atl.
This is great news for the skins, Hall & the raiders deserve each other. |
Re: Falcons Agree to Trade Hall to Raiders for '08 2nd Round Pick
redskins should may that deal .dan vinny suck
redskins should may that deal .dan vinny suck
assuming you meant "make that deal" I beg to differ, as will a no. of people here. This kind of deal is old Danny & Vinny; pay a locker room problem an exorbitant salary & give up a pick in the process. Then when the guy becomes too much of a problem to bear, cut him & eat a ton of dead cap money. Thankfully, the new Vinny show is much smarter. The fact that Al Davis pulled the trigger on this deal says enough. |

If Snyderrato had made that deal it would be the Brandon Lloyd fiasco all over again, complaining, whining, stupid injuries, and a bad teammate. |

Here's the latest update at about 9:30pm.
ESPN - Source: Falcons to trade Hall for Raiders' second-round pick in '08 draft - NFL I hope they get it done. I don't want him here (too much $$$, overrated, potentially a cancer). I don't want him anywhere else in the NFC East either (in case I'm wrong and he turns out to have a great career). Hall and the Raiders deserve each other. |
Re: Falcons Agree to Trade Hall to Raiders for '08 2nd Round Pick
the only way i wouldn't be mad is if we trade our 1st for hall and their (very high) 2nd, keep the current contract (in case his jackarsery continues) and add a stipulation that at the end of the current deal, we can price match any offer.
i doubt hall would be loving that setup though. |

I'm glad we're not getting a head case like Hall. I think it is good move by the raiders, hey they only give up a 2nd round pick.

was this the huge trade that Jay Glazer said there would be?

Re: Falcons Agree to Trade Hall to Raiders for '08 2nd Round Pick
Desparate teams are going to eat up all the big trades and signings. Dont be surprised to see Hackett go to the Panthers because they need WR, and are desparate enough to overpay one. One thing we are not is desparate. We need depth and do have our problems but we are not at a state of desparation. DS has a tendacy to make us think we are sometimes but don't be fooled. As far as Hall goes, I do not know his potential b/c Atlanta has had its problems. IF he turns out to be the best DB in a long time, I'd rather play agaisnt him once a year every so many years (twice if we meet in the SB), than twice a year every year. I beleive our front office is looking for reliable talent that is proven this year. Hall will be hit and miss in Oakland or he will be phenominal. Frankly, I'll let the Cheifs, Broncos, and Chargers stay up all night thinking about it.

We need to build a team not buy.Find a corner in the draft, and tutor him (shawn springs).Mike Jenkins will be a quality corner in this league in 2-3 years.Redskins need to draft him.

I don't think we need another no.2 corner right now, because Shawn Springs was healthy all of last year, Carlos Rogers is having some good progress with that knee, and Fred Smoot proved to be a pretty good corner, we also have Byron Westbrook, he played well in the preseason, we have Leigh Torrence who was or our nickel corner last year, and we have John Eubanks who was cut in the middle of last year. |

uh i dont think your watching the same redskins team that i am. Both springs and smoot battled injuries last season and carlos is not a true number one when fully healthy let alone coming off an injury. Cb is a need on this team. And Eubanks is not the answer, he is absolutely awful.. |
Re: Falcons Agree to Trade Hall to Raiders for '08 2nd Round Pick
yeah especially since we made no FA moves towards a DB my prediction is that one will be selected first round by us, and we may even trade up to do so.
