I can't relax when we have 50 offensive coaches and that is the best playcalling we can come up with? It's almost comical. |

Re: Excellent Game............
It really wasn't a good game. The Giants played like crap in the first half, and the Skins looked pathetic in the second half. I have to give the Giants credit for turning the game around while we sat on our hands and did nothing till the final, last-minute drive. With the Cowboys winning tonight, we'll all be looking up at them.

Re: Excellent Game............
Hey, I'm new to this forum - but I think the problem starts with the Team Owner. Dan Snyder may have been a fan as a kid, but he has created a marketing platform, whilst destroying The Redskins (and for that matter, many other NFL teams that follow his lead). Too bad we can't trade the owner. Until he's gone, the Skins will remain: lot's of Sizzle, NO STEAK.

WTF does Snyder have to do with what happened on the field?? Nothing. |

Tell me about it. I sure hope this loss will be good for us. Something about the offense has been off in all of the first three games and the Giants obviously figured out our weakness almost completely and they flat out embarassed our offense. I hope we can figure out the flaws because we have lots of potential this year and like Giantone said it's early. |

You will probably not be at this site long. Let's engage. Owner not the problem. Gibbs is back. Wanna talk problems; Tiki quit on Coughlin. Coughlin back next season? Not a chance... I'll take an owner that brings in a HOF coach over a NYG owner that hires a guy he doesn't even want. And all the players hate. It's frustrating being in the NFC East cause anyone can win any game at anytime any year... |

Re: Excellent Game............
.......ok and this has what to do with the game Sunday?
Lemme break it down for you:

DSNYderville said "We lost because of the owner".
Luxorreb said "No, we lost because of the team. Snyder has finally gotten to the point where he is not making whimsical decisions counter to the team's best interest, unlike Mara and Tisch, who did just that by choosing a marginal coach that the players don't like over one of the best RBs in the league and a locker-room leader."
Giantone said "What?"
Anyhow, it was not really a "good" game, not just because of the result, but for the reasons pointed out above. The Skins barely showed up in the second half, and it wasn't due solely to the Gints defense (although your D did look better than it had all season). |

I would hardly call our first half "almost perfect"- the stats weren't impressive at all- we didn't run well and we didn't pass well,...we scored a TD on a short field...the only thing impressive about the first half was the D and the scoreboard. For the game, we forced 3 turnovers and only scored 17 points... bottom line, we lost to a bad team (we may be bad as well) and we shouldn't have...we got too conservative. we should have tested a VERY suspect Giants secondary. Either way, you won, so bravo...we are just very bitter |

Where's Brunell in all of this? He has to be to blame here somehow. |

Re: Excellent Game............
Congratulations Giantone, the Giants took advantage of a complacent Redskin team. One day the Redskins will learn to put away an opponent when they have them down. Hopefully it will be this year.
|
Re: Excellent Game............
That might have been 1 of the worst games ive ever seen!!! I don't know about you guys, I didn't see too many things to be proud of in that game....we just handed that game back!
|
Re: Excellent Game............
I blame mark brunell....his crappiness is being spread all over the team by his sideline presence. But seriously....brunell threw ducks...so moss caught all of them...campbell throws a laser...moss needs to adjust to it. Hopefully the drops will decrease as moss and campbell become more comfortable with one another. But did you see the two drops in the game last night????? PATHETIC

Why are we letting a Giants fan create threads on this site that are clearly nothing more than backhanded compliments?? Our offense played lousy against a joke defense. The Giants allowed 80 points in the first two games, largely in the passing game, and we didn't throw for shit in the second half. Disgusting. First and goal from the 1 and we can't score against the 32nd ranked D? Joke. Piss off Giantone. |
Re: Excellent Game............
We lost the game becuase of bad play calling in the second half. Run, Run, Pass. That's it. We did not take the shots down the field that we needed to. To win the game. Should have taken more shots at Moss and Randle EL down the field in the second half. It was vey reminscent of the 05 season when Gibbs would get a lead and try to run the ball to eat up the clock in the second half. Well it's only game 3 so we have plenty of time to get it right going down the stretch.
|
Re: Excellent Game............
Just look at our point totals- 16, 20, 17... not good. With games coming up against offenses like Detroit, Green Bay, Arizona, and New England (we're gonna get our asses handed to us in that game) we better realize we've got to open it up and score. Time to use Campbell's arm. Pass protection has been good. Gotta take advantage.
On a side note, does it make anyone else sick that the Cowboys are clearly the best team in the NFC? 34-10 against the Bears in Soldier???? Wow. |
Re: Excellent Game............
I saw brunell give a high five to the kick-off kid to start the second half...classy move. thats about all. while i'm CLEARLY not a fan..he always handled himself well here...

I think that was the problem yesterday, not the 1st and goal at the 1 or 2 yard line. They didn't need to get themselves into that situation to begin with. The offense looked either inept the 2nd half (which I can't imagine because they looked fine the first) or thought they had this game and didn't get a first down in the 2nd half till the very end of it. What I can't understand is why do they get away from getting the ball to Cooley, the more touches he gets the better the offense looks. |
Re: Excellent Game............
Hate to say it, but the game may have been lost by the Skins in the second half, but they did nothing to help thier case in the first half either.
It is more accurate to say that the Giants almost lost the game in the first half. Turnovers by New York in the first half almost did them in. The only thing that NY did different in the second half is protect the ball better. The whole game, the Redskins had only ONE sustained drive that resulted in a score. The Cooley touchdown. One drive. All of the other Redskins scores came from a short field from Giants turnovers in the first half. Ten points from a short field. Take away those Giants turnovers and the 'Skins only put up 7 on offense. The second half only amplified the injuries on the O-line. Yes they looked OK in the first half, but in the 3rd and 4th quarters they were struggling. Not trolling or trashing here, just stating a fact. I do not blame you guys for being frustrated, you deserve a better product on the field then what is being presented is all. |
Re: Excellent Game............
yeah...good points as I'd said in another post:
The Cowboys are looking tight...and may not really be challenged until New England plays them 3 weeks from now. We have only two choices ,either improve overall or prepare to get swept by Dallas this season. |
Re: Excellent Game............
In the last two seasons I've seen the Skins lose 3 14 point leads at FedEx. Last year I witnessed the disgrace that was letting Vince Young win his first NFL game, and the Falcons debacle. This Giants game was the icing on the proverbial shitcake. What a joke. I'm a diehard skins fan, but when we blow a 14 point halftime lead to the G-MEN at our house, it just shows me that were still an average-to-good team at best. The f'n cowgirls are the best team in the NFC and the Pats are the best team in the NFL. That, in and of itself, makes me want to puke!!

I'm a football fan and as much as I would love to say we killed you we did'nt ,I know what this team has (Giants) and what they don't but still no reason to come to another teams site and be an ass.I like your site becuase most (not all as you have proved) know football and have some class. |

Dude, you come to an opponents fans forum and right after they lost to your team and expect ALL of them to say congrats you won? It is absurd not to think that some people are going to let off some steam and swear and stuff. How easy would it be for me to ask you how would you rate Dallas after the Giants lost to them and put some of their starters on IR? |

Now why would I expect a cowgirl to understand class? If you could read and comprehend you would see that I was saying to the Skins that I think they played well and as "ALL" NFC EAST games are played like that and record means nothing. If you asked, I would tell you the Giants have no LBer's and that their D is bad(verybad)I think Eli is playing better than he has in the past and that if they can hols on till some of the injuries come back they can have an average season. Oh and I have come to this site before and done just what you've said congratulate them and wish them well, becuase you don't do it don't think others don't.Oh ...and as bad as we are we still put up 35 on you so I would'nt go around all high an mighty just yet. |

This is the weirdest thread I've ever seen. It's a bunch of Skins and Cowboy fans beating up on Giants fans. All we need now is for the E-girls fans to come along and start hucking beer bottles and batteries.

Actually we beat the Patriots the next week before they won umptillion games in a row. That season ended in that Carolina game when we blew a lead in the second half. That Giants game we were actually losing by like 17 points before coming back to send it into overtime. |
