maybe the raiders will cut him midway through the season as they did with DeAngelo Hall, we pick up Richard Seymour, and he plays DT next to haynesworth the rest of the year and does great!
Pipe dream out the ass. But nice thought

It's like the Pats are Lucy, and the Raiders are Charlie Brown

I think the Pats are going to be 8-8 this year. They went to far this time with the next man up thing. Plus, I still hate them for the ass whipping they gave us and Joe Gibbs.

Seymour has to be contemplating retirement. I would. hey you have 3 rings and lots of $$ nothing more needs to be done. I cant see why anyone would go to oakland. he has to feel like the Pats just kicked him in the fellas.

Well....we all know that black is slimming. Not sure about silver.

I wonder how many more seasons until Darth Hoody gets rid of Brady. I'm sure he's going to rob some poor sucker team blind when he feels that Brady has run his course.

PS: Am I the only one who feels that this move may have shut up V. Wilfork's demand for a new deal. I can see Darth Hoody saying to him "you better shut up or I'll ship your ass to Oakland with Seymour". LOL.

LOL This just in, NO pat player will ever hold out, drop a pass, miss a block, miss a tackle, complain about a contract or playing time EVER AGAIN.

In an amazing turn of events V. Wilfork has agreed to play for the league minimum until he retires.

Re: Raiders get Richard Seymour?

For the next two drafts, the Pats now have 7 picks in the first two rounds. That's more than any other team. They're an aging team on both sides of the ball, and they know it. Bruschi, Harrison, and Vrabel are all gone. Sammy Morris, Kevin Falk, and Fred Taylor are getting up there. Hell, even Randy Moss and Tom Brady are both 32. Plus they have 4 starting O-lineman 30 or older. Those 7 picks could go a long way in bolstering a strong youth movement of big time contributors.

The're pretty darn good right now, and they're setting themselves up to stay that way in the future.

Re: Raiders get Richard Seymour?

The problem is though they don't that well .

From 2008 draft :

Mayo is a good player for them but, Kevin O'Connell was a third round pick in 08 and was cut, Shawn Crable, Terrance Wheatly, have either just come off IR or just been placed on IR Wilhite and Matt Slater are burried deap on the depth chart

From 2007 Draft : Branden Merriwether was taken too high for his production and has really not had the impact you desire . No one else made the team from the remaining 8 picks . Okay they were day 2 picks but even the Skins have day 2 jems and depth to point to .

From the 2006 draft : Lawance Marooney - great change of pace back if he can stay healthy but never put up more than 1000 yards and never played an entire season . Other than that . Chad Jackson - Off the team (OTT) David Thomas (OTT) Garett Mills (OTT) Stephen Gostkowski - (Keeper but a kicker in the 4th round?) Ryan O'Callaghan (OTT) Mincey, Dan Stevenson (OUT OF THE LEAGUE) Le Kevin Smith (OTT) Willie Anderews (OTL)

2005 Draft : THeier best draft in recent years . Logan Mankins (G), Nick Kakzur (T) and James Saunders (S) and it would have also been Elis Hobbs - but they got three starters out of that draft that are still starters today .

Who knows the impact of the 2009 draft . The draft they picked up 6 2nd and 3rd round players. Brandon Tate and a couple of other are already on the IR lists .

Overall their drafting is average at best . And now Scott Pioli has gone it will be interesting to see how things pan out . I am starting to believe that Poli went before he was pushed ...
Can't make decisions in this league based on loyalty. Seymour is on the last year of his contract, and for the Pats to get a first rounder for a guy about to hit 30 and they had no intentions of giving a big money deal to is simply smart business.
I guess so. The guy was coming off a good year. 30 years old doesn't mean you can't play anymore. But what is it with Robert Kraft? He seriously doesn't want to pay anyone.

It's the NFL, not pee wee league.

I don't think this has anything to do with Kraft, just Darth Hoody wanting to prove that he can win with or without anyone. He already proved that he can win without Tom Brady and now he's going to try to prove that he can win with a skeleton defense (no Seymour, Vrabel, Bruschi, etc., etc.)
It's the NFL, not pee wee league.
The NFL is also a professional league and that's the one thing I wish Goodell would get on the Dark Hooded One about...however Belichick has immunity by way of those three SB rings and the whinny Boston media, so until he royally screws up, he can continue to be the a$$hole that he is.

But then again let's remember that the following year he lost his starting QB and missed the playoffs despite winning 11 games, which I am sure pissed him off.

Not sure about not wanting to pay anyone, it's more about not wanting to pay everyone. They have a few other key FA's coming due and then there's Brady who's due for a mega deal soon.

I doubt retirement is a serious option. He's 29 and has plenty of quality seasons left. He would be leaving a lot of money on the table if he retired now.
