I'm saying if we are going to be taking ANY chances on former basketball players, it should be him. We've already contacted him, he said he'd JUMP at the chance to play for us. He's 6'8" (I found the stats) and 240! As long as he has SOME kind of hands, I'm sure with Buges at the helm, he could be molded into a damn fine TE.

Chevy Troutman IS in school I think. He doesn't have the high or desire to play football like Flowers.

maybe he'd be willing to try it, and if he is bad at it, he might decide he doesn't want to do it. or maybe he will be the next antonio gates.

Exactly. I mean it's not like we drafted these people. At 6'8", 240, could you IMAGINE the matchup problems?! He's got enough bulk at 240 where he should be able to push people around. He also said he wouldn't mind being around the 280 range.

O.K. I know who this guy is, Yes if you are going to take a flyer why not this guy. Football is all about match-ups. How do you cover a guy this size? Impossible.

a 6'8 255-260 tight end with decent speed, good body control, and reliable hands wouldn't be all that bad if this guy works out. I like the idea whether it works or not cuz it's not like its costing the team a lot of money to try this out.

Exactly. I mean I don't see why basketball players aren't more of an untapped resource for NFL players.
