Re: thanks for a great season in the midst of tragedy
God I wish this was like Madden so we could get the FA signings and Draft started immediately.

Re: thanks for a great season in the midst of tragedy
Samuels is a stud but when Jansen and Thomas went down it finally caught up 2day! Heyer will be productive though. Next year we need to draft a DE or OL in the first rd. Maybe pick up A WR at some point

Re: thanks for a great season in the midst of tragedy
I'm really proud of the team this year. For me, after 5-7, all the injuries, and ST's murder, I think we almost over achieved.
And no way Collins or Suisham takes the blame for this loss. Collins was the one who helped get us in the playoffs, so everyone needs to chill on the criticisms. If anything, TC should never have to pay for a meal in the District again. |
Re: thanks for a great season in the midst of tragedy
I don't think that's true. I think we wouldn't have deserved it if we lost to Dallas backups. Seattle is a decent team. I don't think they're great. But our offensive line is absolutely inexcusably bad. And the Redskins have to address that this offseason by getting some depth.
I mean the front 4 of Seattle absolutely bent us over all game. And that was the problem with the whole game. I think if TC had more time back there, we would have done better. If the O-line had blocked better Portis might have been able to run more than just 2-3 ypc. .
Gotta humbly disagree. They have 4 defensive players in the Pro Bowl and Kerney has played great his whole career. Kerney and Peterson are studs and they played a great game. Rabach is great at making line adjustments and is a really good center. Samuels and Kendall are better than average. Fabini should not even be a backup at this point of his career (unless it is in the AFL). And Heyer, well, he went undrafted for a reason. Give him some time but he's in no way capable of blocking Kerney even w/ help. So yes, their front 4 dominated (with help from Lofi and Peterson) but they are better. |
Re: thanks for a great season in the midst of tragedy
DIDO!!! Watching the team play up to its potential the last 4 games of the regular season was priceless. Like someone else said... I'm ready for a break. Honestly, i don't even plan on watching the playoffs and maybe not even the SB this year. I want to remember this season for what it meant to the Skins and us fans.
Hail! |
Re: thanks for a great season in the midst of tragedy
Thanks for a great year, JG and all the skins!
After what this team's been through, making the playoffs was a testament to JG and his belief in character. Also, good to see GW get his mojo back. And kudos to Buges for making a patchwork bunch of backups and undrafted rookies into a real o-line. They had trouble today, but as was mentioned, Seattle is for real upfront, and they are VERY tough at home. Think it might have been a different story in DC, but that's the way it goes. Kudos to ARE, Cooley, Portis, and Moss--they played with great heart. And Collins--what can you say? He had a tough time at the end, but if there's ever been a greater story of backup makes good, I haven't heard it. And props to Laron, Springs, and Smoot: great play, with heart and determination. And the picks showed that we still have a great young FS. And props to Reed--didn't know about his kid and the kidney transplant. That's the lead story for so many teams, and it's just another thing for the skins. What a year. Finally, Rock had a fantastic year and he really emerged as a leader. Love that guy. Props most of all to Joe Gibbs. Without him, who are we? Just another football team, IMHO. With him, we are REDSKINS. Nuf said. Hail to all the fans on this board, and Matty and all the mods for making this crazy year bearable, and even fun (!!) if that's possible given the circumstances. I'm proud to be on the best skins board there is. Josh |
Re: thanks for a great season in the midst of tragedy
I'm proud to be a Skins fan after a loss today as I have ever been. Thanks for leaving it all out on the field even after losing a teammate to a terrible tragedy.

Hail!
Man I kind of agree with you. It's been so emotional for all of us Redskin fans. Can you imagine what it's like for the players? I'm ready for a break too. The finality of it is kind of strange. |
Re: thanks for a great season in the midst of tragedy
I am still darn proud to be a Redskins Fan! It was a tough year and at least we made the playoffs!!!

Re: Thank You Joe Gibbs/Redskins
I second that! These last few weeks were some of the most fun games to watch for several years now. With a depleted O line, a second string QB, and most importantly, the death of ST, these guys were able to pull off some miracles. Thanks again, it is a joy to be a fan of this team. Wait till next year!
The best part was beating the Cowboys 27-6 and you know what? The Cowboys will beat NE in the SB, mark my words. |
Re: thanks for a great season in the midst of tragedy
Great way to recover from a terribly unlucky season. I'm proud of my skins, the way they fought, and the way they came together.
Wait till next year!!! |
Re: thanks for a great season in the midst of tragedy
Very proud of the heart of this team. I'm looking forward to the offseason, the draft and the FA period. Skins 4 Life

Re: thanks for a great season in the midst of tragedy
Great thread.
It's funny, I'm really not as disappointed as I thought I would be. I guess I've already found my peace with the season. I'm proud of the way they fought and kept battling in the face of some extreme adversity. My hat is off tonight to Joe Gibbs and the Washington Redskins. It was a memorable season. Thank you. I'm proud to be a Redskins fan. |
Re: thanks for a great season in the midst of tragedy
obviously we didnt deserve a chance if we lost this game honestly
There are 4 games this week, so every team that loses didn't deserve the chance to play in the playoffs?????? Not a logical comment buddy. |

I thought we were better than the Seahawks...I guess I was wrong and I'll come to peace with that eventually, but not today. Still, it was a great season and I am proud of the skins, and proud to be a skins fan. |
