Re: We won!!!!!!!!!! (Redskins vs. Raiders Post Game Thread)
One of the biggest overlooked issues with the Redskins right now is our Special Teams. We could very well have the worse special team unit in the NFL, and it's really effected a lot of our games.
No return game Giving up long punt returns Blocked Punts Missed FG's Really bad onside kick performances. etc.. I miss the days of Alexander and Sellers putting fear in other teams through special teams. |

Re: We won!!!!!!!!!! (Redskins vs. Raiders Post Game Thread)
I don't think it was one or the other but the combination of the two. Remember last year though early in the season we lost a couple of games due to blocked punts and special teams problems. Through our first few games people were questioning whether or not smith should be fired.

Skins try out 18 players including Jason Smith and Muhammed Massaquoi.

Massaquoi could be a nice pickup.
Jason Smith is a bust. |

Re: We won!!!!!!!!!! (Redskins vs. Raiders Post Game Thread)
The bye week is a good time to try out players who might be picked up if there is an injury later in the season. It doesn't necessarily mean that the Skins are looking to make any immediate changes.
That said, Aldrick Robinson should probably be looking over his shoulder unless and until he can prove that he can be counted on to make a play in the clutch. I always liked Massaquoi and I'm surprised that he is on the street. I wonder if any of the players the Skins looked at are ST mavens. |
