May 25 Roster

Current roster and preliminary depth chart.

https://www.hogshaven.com/2025/5/9/2...ary-cap-update

Thoughts?

Obviously there's a degree of speculation and some change will come as the other 31 rosters come together. The only glaring weakness is Edge as we all know, and for me, Harris at safety is something of an unknown. I'd like to see players like Magee, Hampton and Sinnott rise up and reward the faith shown by the staff, not least to keep the starters pushed. Altogether though a roster many teams will envy at this point. Couldn't say that 2 years ago.

Look at the depth at Corner, WR and Oline. There will be real roster battles with guys being cut who could end up on other teams.

Nice to be in the position of feeding other teams instead of waiting on cuts to improve ours (excepting Edge).

I could not watch every game last year, but I watched last three games and all of the playoff games. IMO Luke McCaffrey has seemed very unimpressive. With all of the WR we have and the ones we added, makes me wonder if our FO might feel the same way.?.???
Luke needs to step up.

He is a former qb who is still fairly new to the position. He'll need to have a good year for sure with Lane and Brooks now on board who I think both can be solid. Should be a very interesting year at receivers with Deebo and all the new guys.

Re: May 25 Roster

I feel reallly good about going into the season with a really good OL with solid depth. IMO this was the most important thing to do, imagine the damage Jayden can do with a clean pocket. In this divison a strong OL was crucial.

I've been saying for years an impact safety would really change the defense. But it's been average or below average play at the position seemingly since Sean Taylor. We need a playmaker who creates turnovers, one of the biggest problems with last year's defense.

Agree with you about the oline. Love the upgrade with Tunsil and Conerly Jr. Taylor was one of my fav Washington players ever. I still have his signed jersey.

Our lack of defensive playmaker(s) and defensive upgrade overall will be what prevents us from winning the SB, unless there are changes made prior to the season.

A lot of high scoring games, should be a fun season to watch. I think Deebo is going to blow up in a contract year. But its hard to win big if you get no turnovers and without a pass rush, well....

Can Lattimore bounce back? If so defense could take a jump.

We really need him to. I expected more from him honestly but know he was battling an injury. Big season for him coming up. A lot of good receivers in the division alone: AJ, D Smith, Nabers, Lamb, and now Pickens. Really hope I'm wrong about the defense.

I believe Lattimore is the most important player on the team. We know JD and Terry will play wel, we just don't know that about Lattimore. How he plays will have a huge impact on the defense and the entire team.

Yes agree Lattimore is huge for the defense and team really. I really believe this with the great receivers he will play against weekly and the defense we'll have. He was known as a lockdown before we got him. Needs to find his groove. He just turned 29 so can play for a few more years also.

Re: May 25 Roster

DBs and DL sound be better, even with a missing star DE. people who watched tape said mccaffrey was open a bunch and just wasn't getting the ball, but my general thought is what i saw was unimpressive as well. WRs aren't always ready year 1 though, so I'm not writing him off or anything.

Re: May 25 Roster

Maybe not the best comparison but his brother didn't break 500y rushing in year 1, though he did get over 600y receiving. Yr 2 he broke out. With this WR room I could easily see Daniels getting more comfortable with him and using him like Edelman. Here's hoping.
