2024 Commanders Season Thread (General)

You know what's also nice about being 3-1 is, it's that we have also played 3 of our first 4 games on the road. That's pretty impressive.

Remaining Schedule:

8 home games
5 road games

https://www.espn.com/nfl/team/schedu...ton-commanders

Cleveland is a big game for us, because we're on the road at Baltimore the following week (that's going to be a tough one).

Don't take the Fightin' Tuggies for granted. Come out early and try to put them away.

Browns and Ravens will be good test for JD and offense. If we can score multiple TDs against them, then it will mean our offense is 100% legit.

Yes it will. Eager to see what the offense does this week. Cleveland really needs this W. Stefanski's seat may be getting warm.

Not to put a downer on the season so far, but there's a question ofc whether we can keep winning this way. Is it sustainable? While the D played much better, they're still a leaky sieve. It needs to be sustained because we're going to come up against D's that will test us more. We have to be able to keep opponents below 20 points if possible for games where the O struggles. And they will struggle.

While I'm not sure we can upgrade the OL at this point (do we need to?), I'd still be looking at edge rushers and CB's if they're available under the right circumstances. Don't sell the farm for benefits now (and Peters won't) but look at an upgrade or 2 to keep the team in the hunt.

I feel our O line is fine, but getting some good pass rushers and more speed anywhere on defense, like another Luvu type….CB will likely be addressed early in the draft and hopefully we land a gem in free agency…let’s see how much our defense improves by years end

The best thing about sports is you never know what is going to happen. Most thought the OL would be a big issue, it's actually a strength. But it cuts both ways. I never would have believed teams would gut us up the middle when we had Payne, Allen, Wagner, Luvu and Chinn not to mention Newton. I thought the pass rush would be an issue but at least they would be able to stop the run.

Looking forward the cap situation for the team is pretty good. Pick situation too. And now players will actually want to come here, so there's that.

Wow guess Peters didn't see anything to warrant keeping him. Not too many of Rivera's players left now. Yeah imagine Forbes may be feeling some heat.

It's almost like Peters personally dislikes 99% of the players Rivera picked. They are dropping like flies.

RR may go down as the worst ever at spotting talent. It’s hard to be that bad.

More like the coaching staff couldn't see anything worth keeping him for and Peters couldn't get any trade interest. I wonder if RR is truly disappointed with his time in DC or he's sitting back laughing at Snyder of paying him so much to deliver so little. Not that anyone under Snyder had much hope.

I imagine he's laughing heartily at Snyder. No one else would work for him, and Rivera really wanted to coach after Tepper fired him at Carolina. He did improve the culture as he said when he left, which really wasn't that hard considering how bad it was but still an accomplishment.

I give him credit for the reverse "Major League" approach. he made the team so frickin bad that Snyder was forced to sell!
