We Slayed the Jones Dragon Post-Game Thread

It was so gross but it worked.

If we get that Juste for 15 more games, defense will be a lot more serviceable. He stepped up big time today.

First, great last drive to win the game by JD and the offense

Mixed bag on offense, defense and special teams. Ran the ball great….Second half defense good…7 field goals cool.

Red zone offense horrific and penalties pathetic

It's hard to even judge the redzone offense because of all the procedure penalties. Inside of the 10 those effect the offense way more than anywhere else. You still don't have an option to go deep, but it makes running the ball harder. It's especially tough with a rookie QB. You have to help a rookie QB, not constantly fuck him over, in the redzone.

Yeah, but the offense not scoring TDs for the games is a major L. Blame JD, Oline, WR, backs, and KK.

And too me it’s twice as bad when we get there 6-7 times and don’t get in. Not good

I mean, at least we got there 6-7 times. The penalties were bad, but that is something that can be fixed.

Those uniforms were awesome. If you don't like those, nothing outside of the Redskins coming back will satisfy.

While I personally wouldn't go as far as to say the Commanders uniforms are Awesome....I will say that the uniforms looked MUCH better with the yellow pants with the Burgundy jerseys

We're on the same page about this - I think that is our best pairing.

Glad we finally slayed the Giants but it could've been a whole different game if Gano doesn't get injured on the opening kickoff.

Highlights:

Pass defense played slightly better. Good to see guys actually breaking up passes and playing tighter coverage.

Run game - Robinson and Ekeler were great. That 40 yarder by Robinson, I couldn't even track which way he went into the pile so that was pretty amazing to watch. Glad to see him break a couple but I wish he had that finishing mindset - if he breaks that last tackle we're talking about a badly needed touchdown.

Jayden Daniels' poise - cool as a cucumber on that last drive.

Zach Ertz - he is definitely earning his money right now.

How could I forget our new kicker - clutch as fuck for one week at least. Hope this is the end of our kicking woes.

Lowlights:

Mike Davis - I put partial blame on the coaches but he was getting lit up by Nabers. After it became clear Jones was keying in on Nabers they should've started jumping routes or double covering him. We could be talking about a different game if he didn't drop that last pass.

Daniel Jones - still waiting for the day when we make Jones look as bad as the rest of the NFL does.

Defensive coaching staff - They didn't adjust to Nabers lighting them up that quickly.

Passing game - I know it's a slow learning process but the amount of screen passes at the LOS is too damn high. I swear we see that called 5+ times a guy and the D is ready for it. Not sure if that's on Daniels or Kingsbury but Daniels is not in sync with the WR's.

Penalties - as a collective group they need to tighten up. All the false starts and other penalties are terrible.

Well. the good news is we won, the bad is we barely won against what is a very, very bad team that was crippled by losing their kicker in this game. This indicates we may still be a bottom 5 team in the NFL.

We're still a bad football team. But still cool that Daniels/Quinn won their 1st home game. The Giants suck, but also still a monkey off our backs on that front too.

Lastly, I think that rib-shot made Daniels remember he's a really good passer, when he let's it rip.

New FO, new Coaching Staff, new QB, new offensive line, big roster turnover….
As long as we keep moving in the right direction I’m ok with the team. Not expecting the team to be world beater this early. Glad we beat the Giants! Fucking hate Mara!

Re: We Slayed the Jones Dragon Post-Game Thread

The most unlikeliest of victories in terms of the manner in which we won. Going on our 5th kicker in four months and we win because we kicked seven field goals... LOL

Anyway, I saw progress from JD, progress with the D, a very effective running game (without JD for the most part). All positives in my opinion.

Really, the only negative I have is the bonehead penalties. You can't have four drive-killing false start penalties in the red zone and expect to beat a good team, and you can't have ST penalties that take away points, and/or give away good field position.

Other than that, I was pretty happy with the effort and of course the result = W.

Not sure how I feel about playing a winless Bengals team on the road on MNF, but let's go!

Oh yeah, Fuck the Cowboys!

I damn near like the Saints more than WFT tonight. They went into "Jerry-World" and absolutely violated them.

Dude, what about the Giants losing their kicker first play of game? That helped us big time

No doubt, and I don't care. Injuries are part of the equation.
