Biden drops out

I am excited and I hope that the Democrats put someone who is not an extremist up as their candidate. They need someone who will garner 66.6% of the votes with no questions and leave the extremists on either side crying.

I will add that this puts him up there with George Washington in my books and I know that's a High Praise but he's stepping down instead of trying to run for political pride or to maintain his brand. Is putting the good of the country first. More people say oh George Washington blah blah blah keep in mind George Washington was very oldand died within 3 years of stepping down so he was in a similar state.

from google ai:
"
George Washington was 64 years old when he stepped down from the presidency in 1796 after serving two terms.*At the time, he was also dealing with both physical and political issues.*In his farewell address, he urged Americans to prioritize the nation's interests over their political and regional affiliations"

I give credit to the Democrats realizing that it was time to move on, a little too late but they are moving on. Again it's time both sides move .

Re: Biden drops out

Complete fucking failure of a President, maybe the worst of my lifetime sans Jimmy Carter

This is the Democrats own making as the scandal of hiding the President’s condition the last two years from the American people (with the media assisting as always).

Instead of primary and letting the voters decide…Dems revolt and let elites, donors decide ONLY after the polls look bad.

Let’s be honest for once, if Biden is leading in the polls NO change happens….just like George Washington, an embarrassing statement.

I'd love if Trump followed suit, and said it's time for a new era.

But I'd add the caveat, not until democrats say it won't be Harris or Newsom that runs next. Anyone else vs. Vance, let's go.

Unfortunately it looks like it will be Harris who imo is the 2d weakest option (after Biden). Sorkin had it right this morning in his op-ed/ If they were really serious about stopping Trump they'd have nominated Romney.

I happened to read that article too (Sorkin). I don't know who the choice would be after them. Can't imagine it's Romney though. Actually, I can't imagine it not being either of those 2 altogether, anyways.

But, I also didn't expect Biden to drop out. So I'm just guessing.

Re: Biden drops out

i think Trump is still very beatable, everyone voting for biden was basically voting for anyone but trump, very few were like yeah we need that biden guy.

Re: Biden drops out

Of course tampon Don is beatable, he lost in 2020 and lost the popular vote in 2016. Since then he’s become a convicted felon, he’s pushing 80 and clearly in mental decline, and his VP pick did nothing to move the needle in his favor. He could very well lose by a bigger margin than he did last time.

that's my point, if the Dems put a moderate who is respected on both sides of the aisle candidate up, they would have a landslide victory.

This is what I expect too. Trump has done nothing to expand his base in the past 4 years, but he most definitely has lost voters. He won't get more than 45% of the popular vote and in my opinion it won't be that much.

Unfortunately, Harris isn't a moderate. I don't think she could beat Trump. Any Republican would, but they won't do that so they better nominates someone who has a least a modicum of appeal to Haley voters and other never Trumpers. I'd Suggest Kelly or Shapiro.
