The Masters

Well, the biggest golf event started today and the media has full Tiger boners going. After you get past all the Tiger hype there s actually other people playing in the Master and the youngest (age 14) player to ever play in the Masters. So who is everyone pulling for or picking to win the 2013 Masters.

My boner goes for Phil.

BTW did you guys know they have not changed the prices at the Masters for food and beer in years.

Re: The Masters

The 14 year old kid is a cool story. I saw the footage of his finish for the day at 18....They treated him like a returning hero...real cool stuff!
I have always heard the food and service at the Masters is tremendous and dirt cheap......once you get past the $1000+ tickets

Its not that they sell the tickets at a high price its the after market that jacks them up. I watched the replay last night and that 14 yr old was actng as if playing in the Masters was no big deal. Very mature for a 14 yr old who speaks broken english but handled his interview like an adult.

Woods makes golf more interesting. Great for golf, look at the ratings.

Masters is great and all, just have to acknowledge the fact this was a super rich white men club just until recently. Now it's a mainly white male super rich club.

Tickets prices are absurd and because of that it's not accessible to the general public. And yes it's the market that drives up the cost. The market of super rich white men.

Nothing is wrong with being super rich or white. Just is why most of America doesn't have a hard on for the masters. They just can't relate.

Bla, bla , bla....

You don't know what your even talking about. The Masters has kept all their prices low to allow the everyday person able to afford a ticket. They cannot stop people for scalping the tickets. The price list I post for the $3.5o beer is todays prices not prices from the 80's.

BTW: I do agree Woods is good for golf but the announcers obsession over Tiger gets old.

I don't care about beer costs. That's a minor item.

Tickets are the hardest ticket to get, with very few of them available to the public. Most are held by longtime ticket holders(aka super rich white men) . http://golf.about.com/od/majorchampi...rs_tickets.htm

I think you, sir, have no idea what you are talking about.

To be clear, I enjoy watching the masters but just don't think it's some super noble act to keep hot dog costs low. Much like how you probably don't care if Obama is taking a 5% pay cut.

I do know what I'm talking about because I have a buddy whos name was drawn for tickets and the face value was $200 for a 4 day pass. That article is talking about scalping tickets not what the actual face value is on the tickets.
