We will have a big name vet starting. Unless Heineken impresses that much in camp. Either way we will have a much better quarterback group next season.

Ron would have came out and said "Taylor has proven he can be a starter for us" if he wasn't in the market for a big time QB.. It's clear with the reports and from his press conference that he is aggressively looking to add a QB.

I’ve been thinking more about this since someone mentioned it though. He is a fit for the system we run? I’d love Stafford as he is a consistent top talent. But there also has to be a scheme for too. Stafford is going to command at least a 1st, which at 19, is a steal for his arm talent for the next 5 years.

Deshaun Watson would be a dream come true and a better scheme fit but I don’t know if he would constitute WFT as a contender for next year which I hear is his preference. I would bet the farm for him though.

Watson is a no brainer, the guy will be great for 10 more years..

Re: Taylor Effing Heinicke

I think potential QBs will look at us as a real attractive destination this year. A top-flight defense led by a young defensive line and some cap space to work with? Good QBs will look at this as a spot they can drop in and make a difference, sort of similar to the way Brady viewed Tampa last year.

I think Watson would find us an attractive option, the question is will Houston deal him. I'm not sure they're willing.

Looks like Houston will be interviewing Bieniemy after all, which is what Watson wanted. Who knows if they ultimately hire him, but it's an olive branch... Regardless, I find it hard to believe Watson is going anywhere.

I just feel that we don't have enough ammo for a trade for Watson. Would we trade this year's first and third, and next year's first?

They are not going to get a QB in the draft with our first round pick.

Yes, but other teams have already interviewed Bieniemy during the Chiefs' playoff bye week. I really don't think Houston is serious about hiring him.

According to ESPN: “A source close to Watson told ESPN's Chris Mortensen that firing Easterby would not resolve the issue, saying that "Cal McNair would have to fire Cal McNair."

@danorlovsky7 “I’ve asked around a lot with folks very attached to the @HoustonTexans situation. It’s worse than we even think it is on the outside.
And that says a lot.”

I think Watson is going somewhere. 👇🏻

Especially if we go out and sign the likes of Robinson in FA and then reinforce depth at WR and TE in the draft. What QB wouldn't want to come where we're adding weapons and have a burgeoning defense?

Perhaps targeting Kenny Golladay first would be a smart move.

Re: Taylor Effing Heinicke

Pound for pound I'd take either (both!) but I'd personally take Robinson 1st. He's already great, but put him with a top QB and I think he'd shine.
