Re: Official Redskins First Cuts Thread

I was rooting for Graham Gano to win the kicker competition. This guy has the potential to be the second coming of JAN STENERUD. He has the leg. He's been more consistent. If you think about it, Gano was really 36/41 on FG attempts last season minus the blocks which were mostly the fault of the special teams unit blocking for him.

I'm truly surprised by the release/trade of Kevin Barnes. I'm always pulling for a Maryland Terp. I hope the Redskins got decent value in exchange for Barnes.

Regarding the trade of K. Barnes, I'm thinking the Skins will either pick up a CB or trade for one. We certainly need another one.

I don't know why. They tried to find a spot for him inside, outside, and at safety. He wasn't able to make the grade at any of those spots. There just wasn't anything else to do but let him go. I also hoped that he would make it but he just wasn't able to take advantage of the opportunities he was given.

Re: Official Redskins First Cuts Thread

Crawford's strong play was probably a big reason Barnes is gone.

Re: Official Redskins First Cuts Thread

This is just a thought. We have heard nothing about Thompson. He has played in every game after the starters were out. Never saw or heard his name called except for a missed interception. Maybe he was the guy along with Crawford that made it possible.

Smootsmack, could you also update the first thread with total number of players left on the roster? I'm not sure if we're done with moves or need to make more cuts to get to 75

Can you at least tell us whether it's a pick or a player?
