I've been pretty happy with the way the Skins have looked during the pre-season. Much happier with the direction the Skins are heading now compared to the past decade.

On a good note, these backups looked incredibly well coached, they get it. Our depth is quite strong, haven't seen that in years. The heavy drafting is starting to pay off. Now we just need major playmakers in starting roles and shore up our Oline and secondary.

This team did not make many mental errors during preseason, that is a fantastic sign.
It will likely come down to who has more talent on game day, and we are still a bit behind with our starters. I can proudly say, we have a solid across the board foundation, finally....did you ever think we would have across the board depth a few years back when we didn't even have a GM?....good job Bruce Allen!!
I think we have 4 RBs that can get the job done. They should all get snaps. We should be able to throw waves of fresh legs at teams all year long. RB by committee!

I'm just going to be hyper-critical for a second and say Banks should have stayed on his feet on his long reception. Didn't see any reason for him to fall down and thought he could have gained more yards and maybe even took it to the house. There.

Helu, Royster, and now Morris show promise and are young. It is a shame if we just dumped TH, when we could get some pick for him. I know you think it will be a gamble on the Lions part, but they just do not have a running game to speak of. Hightower looked decent in his showing.
I think we do. Helu seems to be banged up a lot, Morris is a rookie, Hightower still isn't 100%.

We keep 4. They've been reping Royster at FB in practice so they can keep 4 RBs. Helu isn't 100%. Who do we cut? All 4 would get picked up quickly. Even TH coming off the knee injury.

And again I don't see how we cut Banks. Having that speed and play-making ability is just too valuable.

I'd like to see us keep him, but the numbers game at WR is going to be tough. I won't be surprised either way if we keep him or let him go.

Yeah I agree. That's going to be the toughest decision on the team again this year.

Maybe when he was the only person with playmaker ability on the team. Yes, he has great speed and sometimes makes plays. He is also inconsistent.

Perhaps the coaching staff has seen enough of other players to believe that they offer a different both consistency and some playmaking ability than Banks.

Let's remember, Banks big plays came against a team with bad scrubs. His ability to make plays was last year and against non-scrubs competition this preseason was not so stellar. Essentially, he's a great player for a bad team, but an average player at best for a good team. I like the kid but just don't think he's all that when playing against the big boys.

He had his shot last year to be a difference maker and failed. What has he done this preseason that is any different than last year's preseason that would lead you to believe he will do better this regular season as opposed to last?

I like the kid, I believe he will be claimed immediately after being cut. I also believe, however, he will have a non-descript season. He is simply not the second coming of Devin Hester.

Re: Bucs vs. Skins Gameday Thread

I think after last night, Banks takes Robinson spot at WR.

WR:Garcon, Hank, Morgan, Moss, Briscoe, Banks

Hate to say it, but if we only take 3 RBs, think you gotta cut Hightower, he didnt look close to 100 last week. RB: Royster, Helu, Alfmo

Let someone else waste a roster spot.

And before someone flips out and tells me how he caught a 46 yard pass and went for a 43 yard end around, let's all remember this was the fourth and least meaningful preseason game.

Banks is going to be a though call. When playing against better players he did not perform. Last night he looked great but was playing against most uys that will not be playing in the NFL come Saturday.
