Oh oh...it's getting worse and worse for the defense. Isn't it Joe?

Thats odd...the minimum sentance for manslaughter is 9.5 years without the possibility of parole.

lol ... could be. On the other hand, they may not be as open minded as you ... murder 2 appears to be off the table and they could be trying to figure out if they think there is even enough for manslaughter.

Read whatever you want into it saden1. It's in the blackbox now and anybody trying to interpret what's going on is just trying to read tea leaves.

Re: Trayvon Martin Case

Well look what we have here:

Report: George Zimmerman special prosecutor fires IT chief who raised discovery concerns - OrlandoSentinel.com

Quote:
  • That most likely lead prosecutor Berniede la Rionda had huge amounts of Trayvon Martin's cell phone data, probably already back in 2012, without telling the defence.
  • He was concerned that he might have criminal liability because the lead prosecutor appeared to be hiding from the defense exculpatory evidence.
  • That the lead prosecutor appeared to intentionally give Trayvon Martin's cell phone data to the defense in an unreadable format.
  • He was so concerned he sought legal advice and counsel.
  • That Zimmerman prosecutor Angela Corey's office policy regarding e-mail was not to put case names or ID information the the subject field, to intentionally make finding e-mails difficult and get around federal and state e-mail retention requirements.

Guy who testified the prosecutor withheld evidence has been fired. Go figure.

That's what they say, but I'm sure they'll let him out on GB

Come on Smoot. The media plays a big part in how people react to things. When this first hit the scene there were clear agendas. Editing the tape to make it look like a racial killing. Portraying Martin as if he was some innocent kid just merely going to store for skittles and even reporting incorrect facts in the case. Should we blame the people that believe mass media? I guess that's a valid point too.

Re: Trayvon Martin Case

Well first of all you make it sound like Al Sharpton was sent down all expenses paid by "te media" Secondly, what NBC edits and airs doesnt reflect what Fox does, what ABC does, what CNN does, what BBC does and so on. There have been multiple angles on this from multiple sources, so don't just lump it all as one big "the media"

As much as I'm being kinda hypocrite keeping up with it now, I really wish in all court cases where the stakes are life (or stakes just as high like rape cases) there could be a ban on news coverage of trials. I agree there should be public scrutiny of trials, maybe have the proceedings kept private and show them on Court TV or equivalent after the trial.

That wasn't my intention of making it seem as the the media had anything to do with Al Sharpton showing up. They do in the sense of how they covered it non-stop. If this wasn't reported, he would never show. That said, I understand that not all the media did the things I said, I'm just saying "media" in a general sense. Just like not all the media stated incorrect facts during the boston bombing. Point taken though. I'll change that to a "some of the media" in regards to the points I'm making.

What are the odds (your guess) on Zimmerman being guilty there?

edit: And any word on the jurors saying why they acquitted? (evidence, lack of, one side very believable or not?, ????)
