Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
Would be interesting. Not a lot of wear and tear as he's been splitting carries for a few years now; and not a concerning injury history either. He is three years older than A Gibson, but only has six more starts. I would be fine with it if they were to bring him in on a 2-3 year deal. A Robinson/Hunt tandem would be formidable. Where does that leave Gibson though. I don't see the need for both...trade / release?

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
I think it's just doing the due diligence, Hunt would be a nice back up plan if Gibson or Robinson gets injured.

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
Found this article on Saahdiq Charles. I hope he pans out.
Make no mistake about it - this staff LOVES Saahdiq Charles and will give him every opportunity to win a spot at LG. They want athletes on the O-line and despite how many of you feel about Chris Paul, Charles is BY FAR the better prospect/athlete. Just needs to stay healthy.

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
Just hope the oline is decent this year. It would be such a travesty if Howell didn't have a lot of time to throw, especially with all our weapons. Eager to see if we sign anyone else before/during camp for oline.

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
Lotta folks talking about Khaleke Hudson
Hudson, a backup/special-teamer in his first three seasons, worked with the starters during the spring in part because Jamin Davis was recovering from offseason knee surgery and free agent signee Cody Barton was working with the backups as he learned the defense. Hudson impressed the coaches, however, building on a successful start in the regular-season finale. He played fast this spring — as he did in the finale against Dallas. While Washington entered the offseason wanting to improve its linebacker depth, Hudson’s one-game performance, as well as this spring, put that quest on hold. Great sign

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
Jadeveon Clowney folks?
Being linked to us as a rotational piece, I’d say bring him in

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
I've no issue with trying Clowney out as cover, but does that then suggest a) we can't rely upon Young (or want to trade him) and/or b) that the depth we currently have isn't up to it?

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
From The Athletic (and I think this is fair, and the thing I am probably worried about the most):
Washington Commanders Has the offensive line improved enough? “Enough” acknowledges some boost from the team moving on from last season’s older starting guards — Andrew Norwell will be released once healthy — and adding new personnel. Yet, virtually no Pro Bowl potential exists among the starters, and only left tackle Charles Leno is a definitive steady option. Let’s see how new right tackle Andrew Wylie (nine sacks allowed in 2022) performs with Sam Howell behind him instead of Super Bowl MVP/QB magician Patrick Mahomes, or Sam Cosmi takes to right guard duties or free-agent signee Nick Gates thrives at center or if the left guard battle between Saahdiq Charles and Chris Paul produces a definitive or default victor. Rookie center Ricky Stromberg and fourth-round tackle Braeden Daniels might be long-term answers, but 2023 may turn into redshirt seasons. Washington needs robust work from the OL right away. — Ben Standig
