Even if it means being creative and blitzing on occasion - the talent is there. It's up to the coordinator and/or playcaller to recognize when sending 4 isn't getting it done so they can step it up.

Re: Week 1 - Post-game Thread
This is what I don’t understand…trying to convince me that cutting Moses is a good move because it’s a year before the wheels fall off and signing Leno clearly a year after the wheels have fallen off
Martin Mayhew and Ron need to own this logic.

Re: Week 1 - Post-game Thread
My big 3 takeaways:
#1 the defense is all hype right now, totally overrated #2 Gibson's fumble was an absolute back breaker #3 we're going to flounder around with so so QB play again this year |

Agree on 2 and 3. To be honest, going be unpopular, i rather have a losing record let young guys grow then have higher picks this coming draft as ammunition to get our new QB. Watson be the quick fix.

Re: Week 1 - Post-game Thread
My problem with yesterday is that this team looked completely unprepared to play and I blame that on Rivera. For a guy who talks so much about preparation and execution WFT didn't have either.

A rookie head coach on the other side of the field too. Ron, JDR should be embarrassed

Re: Week 1 - Post-game Thread
If you're looking at giving up 20 points as some sort of victory for the D I don't know what game you were watching. LA basically did what they wanted all game long (gave up 424 yards), they controlled the clock especially in the 4th quarter (36 min TOP for LA), and we gave up 14/19 on 3rd downs including that 3rd and 16. Just a terrible all around performance. This is not an elite defense, hell it's not even decent right now.

Here are their possessions: Opening drive TD Punt Punt FG FG Turnover Turnover TD (after WFT turnover on the 3) End of game drive (terrible - but the D was gassed at this point) Game 1 in the books and it's the same story as last year so far. The offense needs to get it going or it will be the same amount of wins too. Anyway, the sky is not falling for me - but some of you might need to take cover. |

Look at the Rams/Bears. Rams got two turnovers, Bears won time of possession at a 2-1 click, and had 322 yards of offense. Sound familiar? The difference is the Rams offense can move the ball down the field consistently, and they can score TDs. The WFT offense has not shown that they can do either under Turner. Maybe that will change with Heinicke, I don't know. |

Re: Week 1 - Post-game Thread
AGREE
With that said it was still a winnable game which should spark some hope. IDK just trying to be positive, it was typical WFT day lose and lose your QB1 for the season to start the season. It is just hard to enjoy the NFL with such a miserable team.
