Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
I like getting HaHa back.
Opportunity to redeem himself from last season, getting more out of that 4th round pick we sent to Green Bay, and I'm sure he wasn't expensive. This basically sets the Safety position and we can focus on other areas. If Dunbar comes back healthy, we are going to have a good group of DBs IMO.

I think the key to the DBs success is going to be Dunbar's health. The defense took a nosedive when he got injured. Also, given what I've heard about Collins, I feel he'll do a better job managing the DBs on the field than Swearinger did. I think JP Findlay may have said that Collins could even take over calling plays on defense as a safety.

Peterson at 2 years/8 million.
Is that a lot? It feels like a lot, but since he played for 1 million last year. https://twitter.com/john_keim/status...05036780077056 |

Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
That's one thing about AP, total professional...all heart and you can tell he loves the game. If this is good for anybody, its good for Guice

Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
I'm pretty sure it is a 1-year $4 mil and we'll see for the 2nd year.

Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
It’s a 2 year, $8m deal but the second year is an option. Will be curious to see exactly how it’s structured but expect something that’s very easy to move on from after 1 year if the #Redskins want.

Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
On Adrian Peterson's 2-year, $8m deal, his base salary in year 1 is $2.5m, source said.

Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
I think the Alabama infatuation is honestly about changing a culture. I think Jay and Bruce are struggling with how to go about putting together a more professional, hardworking group who's willing to sacrifice his body and work tirelessly with discipline and passion. When you see Jonathan Allen I mean it's obvious that's the kind of guy you'd want setting the tone in your locker room. So I get it.
But the real problem is Jay and Bruce aren't creating the culture themselves. We've still got a Club Jay atmosphere with a soft ass Club Jay training camp.

Re: Redskins Free Agency Thread
We learned our lesson with Collins, always wait for the contract details to come out and withhold judgment til then. I love AP the player.
But that cap charge needs to be $2M or so for this to make sense. I don't think we should be using a significant chunk of cap space on Peterson unless there's concern over Guice's recovery (God I hope not). All Day is good for our locker room and fun to watch but he's not going to be the same player forever. Like I said, at $2M or $2.5M cap charge, I can get with it. Let's see what it comes to.
