Re: Jets Gameday thread

Hogan shouldn't the team, that frees up a spot for an extra guy somewhere. OL has to be the biggest concern for the team.

1st team defense looks very effective, backups arent cohesive but i think we have a lot of good depth at individual spots.

Still liking Apke, Settle, and Quinn from the late rounds

Re: Jets Gameday thread

I still have the same exact concerns this year as last year, except the defensive front 7 looks good.

Hey offense, punch that mother trucker into the fucking endzone!!

Cam Sims was fun to watch. Obvious bad drop, but the rest was enjoyable.

Bowles, clean your guys up. Too many questionable hits.

Haha thanks, just watching the game right now, reaching the end of the 2nd quarter.

Impressed by this defense! Damn, even a line play illiterate like me can see how Allen and Payne are going to wreak havoc for us this season, exciting!

Under the radar side note: Am I the only one to think Ryan Anderson has improved his game a little ?

See KI? I'm not alone ^^ He just went from non-factor during the whole season to making a couple of plays in one game ^^

6. I’m mentioning this one rush in the third quarter because it’s a chance to talk about Ryan Anderson. He hasn’t threatened the quarterback enough during camp so it’s easy to wonder what direction he’ll take in this area. You have to give players time to develop and not everyone does so right away. With Anderson, the power is evident and that leads to the one rush where he did a nice job. He ran an inside stunt and drove the lineman back into a sack. Anderson stayed low and his strength made the difference.

Good point. He went from zero, zed, nada sacks last season to possibly having something to do with another player getting a sack in the second preseason game. Wow! Way to draft yet another player who doesn't fit any NFL position. As you can see, I'm very impressed.

He's like watching soccer: "Ooh, ooh! Wow! Did you see what almost happened on that play!"

Cam sims was very impressive last night, he's got good size and he's fast enough to get off the line. I would rather have him than Harris and Quick

At this point I'd say the WR group is looking like Doctson, Richardson, Crowder, Harris, Sims, Quinn

Yeah with Davis on IR I don't see why we wouldn't keep all 6 of these guys.

Maybe Brian Quick has a monster second half of preseason and makes the roster but right now I don't see it.

Yes...essentially this is the question...Brian Quick- 6 years in the league doing somethings just ok or Sims making unbelievable, in-traffic catches who has untapped potential

Also...Sims appears to be more effective in the red zone....AND whats our big fucking problem which showed its head again last night?

It’s called pre-season!! Quinn dropped a TD pass but went on to have a solid game. Sims scored but was called back due to an illegal formation, that’s 2 TD’s in the RZ. I’m not worried, without Crowder, reid and others in the lineup it’s hard to judge.

Def possible. Witten said Sims could push Doc, I was surprised when he said that

Definitely not putting much stock in that thought, not for this year at least

Witten said many, many silly things. After the first couple, I was unsurprised by the silly things he said.

I realize its their first time on air (I think), but the new MNF team was just bad and really distracted from the game rather than enhancing it. When they weren't spouting banalities, they were offering insights that were just not, well, insightful. I realize its preseason but it's as if they had done no research on either team beyond ESPN headlines. ... and their hard-on for Darnold was insufferable. It was a Cris Collingsworth man-crush in stereo.
