Re: Giants at Redskins Post Game Thread
It's easy to focus on the obvious shortcoming like lack of pass rush and bizarre play-calls (when we ran two consecutive screens tonight blown up by the NY defense practically before the snap everyone in my living room said "What the f*ck" in perfect unison), but we're winning football games. And over the years there have been many football teams that lose, like we have in years past, or win, like we've hopefully started to, many games that could easily go the other way.

Another unsung hero is Trent Williams, Giants got "0" sacks.

Re: Giants at Redskins Post Game Thread
I mean the stat is nice, but RG3 got trucked on several drop backs. It was kind of the theme of the first half and Gruden spoke to it at length. This offense just can't pass protect. It's a legit concern.

Re: Giants at Redskins Post Game Thread
I thought the Redskins offensive line did a great job keeping Griffin III healthy and upright. The Giants defensive front are great at penetrating and Griffin III got rid of the ball in time to avoid sacks. But the Giants pass rush is almost impossible to completely contain.

Re: Giants at Redskins Post Game Thread
Also a lot of those hits were clearly after Griff had released the ball, some may have been, but I'm not calling roughing the passer cause i don't expect anyone to be able to stop their momentum in mid air after sprinting as hard as they can at someone.
I'd say the line managed fine, Now Trent did miss one arm tackle that they highlighted on TV but other then that his blocking was stellar all around getting to second level blocks on almost every play. |

Ravens missing Ray Lewis and T Suggs, Browns are, well, the Browns, and Eagles and Cowpukes won't have anything to play for. Definitely could run the table!!!

Browns we could, could beat, I see that as playing the panthers defense and the vikings offense. Eagles---this can be a trap game. They have NOTHING to lose, more going for it on 4th down; the fact that everyone here is saying we will beat them; I think we win, but Trap Game. Cowboys--they play us at home, but they always play us well at our place. I think this is the who goes and who stays playoff game right here. This game will be huge. Keep in mind, that the cowboys didn't have Tyron Smith (LT) DeMarco Murray (RB) Jay Ratlif (NT) and Miles Austin for most the game (WR) when they played us, and they made it close. It is by no means a "We'll definitely win that game" kind of game. Also keep an eye on seattle and their DBs suspension, cause they go, that secondary goes, and that defense gets worse and that team loses more than they should, and there goes their playoff chances.

Re: Giants at Redskins Post Game Thread
Tonight was big because the Redskins actually played like a professional football team. They didn't beat themselves and they didn't make costly mental errors down the stretch. They did what they were supposed to do.
First time in a very long time we've showed up that way in a big game. |

Re: Giants at Redskins Post Game Thread
Wow...This game could have gone either way. We've beaten 3 straight division opponents. Can you say 'hot' right now?!?
I'll say though that our defense was not playoff caliber tonight with the super bend..but don't break defense.
