Re: MLB 2013 Season

still cant believed they benched Strasburg last season...

Davey Johnson needs to be gone after this season, and Ive said it before but what a damn disappointment Ryan Zimmerman is...he's healthy and his numbers are atrocious and his defense sucks. pathetic

Nationals' Ryan Zimmerman might need move from 3B

Re: MLB 2013 Season

Honestly, my dad and I left the game in disgust yesterday during the 8th when Ian Krol didn't bean Freddy Freeman in the 8th after he took a huge 3-1 swing when they were were up six to three. Krol did throw the next pitch pretty far inside but it was way too-little-too-late. In fact, we were mad that Zimmermann didn't hit Heyward with a 3-0 in the first at bat of the game.

After the way Tehran punked Harper on Tuesday it would have been really nice to see the team show a little heart but I guess they just don't have much this season.

What a disappointment.

Re: MLB 2013 Season

My ChiSox swept the Yanks...nice way to snap their previous 10-game losing streak.

Horrible year for both teams. I'll pull for the Pirates since my team already sold the team at the trade deadline and gave up on this season.

Can't help but wonder what happened to the Nats this year. They're constantly having the injury bug between Werth and Harper. Everyday I get a new text about someone in the main lineup being benched for injury reasons.

And did I mention I hate Drew Storen? Because I hate Drew Storen. I know he's the least of the Nats worries right now while he's in the minors but I've hated him since he blew the playoff game last year.

Just had to put that out there.

Re: MLB 2013 Season

I think the time for the Nats to turn things around this year is starting to dwindle, and I don't like their odds, but hopefully a new manager next year will be able to turn things around. I really hope a fresh voice will help because talent isn't the problem here, they just seem to be doing little things wrong here and there that teams are taking advantage of. Things like pitchers checking runners more, doing a proper sac bunt to move our runners, maybe move R.Zim from third base (it's a little unnerving watching him throw to first, when you never know whether to expect another wild pitch), etc. As far as hitting goes maybe they need a fresh pair of eyes to analyze their swings or something, it feels like they are pressing too hard when they are at the plate.

TL;DR: Even if they do go on a late season run I don't see them making the playoffs. I am in favor of figuring out what they have for next year.

I hate to say it, but next year looks like a rebuilding year. Blah.

No because it wasn't the worst loss in franchise history.

Re: MLB 2013 Season

Arod had a tough time in Beantown last night. Fans and Sox were brutal to him. Seems he got the last laugh after all. I'm still wondering how the ump allows attempts to him him before one finally lands and he warns both teams. Dude should be suspended for allowing that shit to go on. Dempster should most definitely be suspended by MLB.

Alex Rodriguez of New York Yankees hit with pitch by Ryan Dempster of Boston Red Sox - ESPN New York

What kills me is all the Arod hate (especially from Sox fans) about him using roids. Two of their biggest stars (Manny/Big Poppy) used roids the past decade, and you didn't hear squat from them about that.

edit: yeah, Dempster needs to be suspended.

Re: MLB 2013 Season

It's probably 'too little, too late,' but the Nats are certainly making this interesting...

Re: MLB 2013 Season

I still think they're a tease. They won't make it to the playoffs despite their late, desperation run.

Re: MLB 2013 Season

Nats are done and I see Zim is starting to turn it up with 20 games left. Way too late.
