Re: Positions Which Need to Be Addressed

I think that we should pick a corner near the third round though. maybe the fourth. We need some life in our secondary.

I agree completely! I wouldn't mind seeing Brandon Thompson starting the rest of this season then keeping him and doing a complete overall in the offseason with younger players. I'm over D. Hall and his famed 10 yard cushion defense.

But I think we need to draft a Qb first and three straight offensive linemen for depth before we make any other choices.

One things for sure though no going short change on the QB position. As promising as Jenkins looks and as intriguing as the future potential of Leonard Hankerson is, it's looking like it wasn't worth not trying to trade up for Andy Dalton. Then again hindsight is 20/20.

Also Daltons early success may be slightly deceiving. AJ Green is a ridiculously talented safety net. I like to call it the Culpepper effect.

i dont think dalton would be succeeding here, nor do i think he will be a pro bowl qb in the future. he will be a solid starter imo.

Re: Positions Which Need to Be Addressed

QB, OL, WR, and CB are our most pressing needs by far imo.

we need to get younger at the qb position and more talent, bottom line. rex/beck may be serviceable for another year or so if they get some more talent around them, but we need to groom a guy for the future or plug them in to start next year.

our 1st string O-line is ok, but we need depth. we could also use a new starting right tackle.

we need a playmaker at wide receiver. moss is a slot receiver at this point in his career and should definitely remain on the team, but we need a wide receiver that strikes fear into opposing teams. we do not have one. we need someone they have to gameplan against.

our corners suck. we dont have a #1 as hall and wilson are both #2 corners or even nickle guys. i think hall would be good as a nickle corner personally, but we definitely dont have a shut down guy, and kevin barnes sucks.

aside from these 4 areas of need, i think we are ok. these are definitely the areas i'd focus on in the offseason/draft at this point.

Re: Positions Which Need to Be Addressed

I believe we should have some 6th rounders from mcnabb/haynesworth trades. Idk how many extra we will have either.

Re: Positions Which Need to Be Addressed

So lets see if I'm reading right our draft looks like the following.

1st
2nd
3rd
4th
4th (from Oakland)
5th
6th
6th (From Minnesota)
6th (From New England)
7th

And a likely comp pick for Carlos Rogers.

Its weird to be a Redskins fan and ever have to talk about having extra picks. Normally we are talking about what we should do with our 4 selections total that we have.

That is nearly correct. The 6th round pick from NE is a 2013 pick. Also, the Skins owe the Cards an unspecified late round pick as part of the trade for Tim Hightower. I assume that we won't have one of either our 7th round or our 6th round pick. That leaves us with 8 picks as things now stand.
