Not sayin the line was perfect but to act like we are how Houston used to be with our QB getting killed each week is a stretch.
Just because 7 sacks happened in one game, doesn't necessarily mean they don't exist. Once again, I'm not saying Campbell is not to blame at all, but he's not the only reason they lost in the second half of the season. A lot of fans wanted for the team to pick up a lineman at #13 (me included), because a healthy/young line is the key to both the running and passing game.

As I said before, all we can do is wait and see what happens this upcoming season. I think the offense in general needs to contribute and help the team win. It shouldn't be up to the defense to carry games. Or let's hope that our defense is elite enough to carry the team (like Baltimore's). We can argue to death about JC here, but that's all we can do, nothing will be proven or unproven until the team takes the field.

Peyton Manning was only sacked about 14 times. Based on that, should'nt the Colts have won the Super Bowl?

That doesnt matter in this thread

All you need to know is JC sucks and anyone else is better.

Eli sacked 27 times.
JC 38

But JC did have more pass attempts. 506 to 479 So while JC was sacked 11 more times he also threw 27 more passes so by taking that into account i wouldnt say there is a huge difference in the pass protection. but i will say that the Giants oline is much better at run blocking.

Unfortunately, our running game also suffered due to the demise of the offensive line. Once again, the combination of a couple of things is that makes a team successful. I believe the offense as a whole needs to show improvement this year.

Guys like Peyton and Brady wont get sacked much due to teams not blitzing them as much. IMO

Those guys welcome defenses to take guys out of coverage and rush them. more often than not they make them pay for it.

Don't you think it has also something to do with their offensive lines? I mean since 2002, Indianapolis and New England have been in the top 10/top 15 in least QB sacks allowed (except last year in NE). I'm sure defenses don't go blitz crazy when they face Payton or Brady, but give some credit to the lines.

In the case of NE id say not really. when they were setting the scoring record not many teams blitzed Brady, the Gmen got after him in the SB and gave teams a blueprint on how to slow down brady and Co. the Cheifs got after him and put him out and then Cassel wasnt getting the respect from defenses that they gave Tom.

See when NE set the scoring record, I remember watching the NE/Baltimore game, and I do think B'more went after Brady quite a lot. I think it'd be interesting to see stats on the number of blitzes that the NE o-line faced that year. Also, in 2006, Brady had no #1 receiver, while he was still Tom Brady, I'm sure the defenses must have not feared the likes of Reche Caldwell and Ben Watson; and probably went after the QB.

The Iggles and regular-season Giants also went after him pretty hard.

Re: Eli Manning vs Jason Campbell

ESPN has a poll up right now and most agree that Jason Campbell belongs in the top half of QBs in the league at best.

Maybe you and I are reading the different polling maps. Currently, as I'm reading this, it has 50% saying he's not in the top half. That 50% is wrong, of course.
