Well, unless there is a blockbuster trade , it's time to get on the Mix wagon.

Burl Toler!

Actually, should we be paying a little more attention to Billy McMullen? He's a big receiver, has experience in the West coast offense. He's been a bit of a disappointment overall but he's proven more at this level than Mix:

Billy McMullen: McMullen arrived in Minnesota from Philadelphia in a trade for Vikings free agent receiver Hank Baskett. Vikings new head coach Brad Childress had a familiarity with McMullen and his receiving skills from their years together with the Eagles as well as McMullen's understanding of his offensive system. McMullen provides a big target with his tall frame and long arms allow him to outreach shorter defenders. McMullen's limited quickness hurts him when facing press coverage as he does not do well against the jam. McMullen is a long strider that sometimes struggles to accelerate out of his breaks but can close on a defender in off coverage deceptively fast. McMullen has decent game speed yet lacks the second gear to separate on vertical routes. McMullen uses his body well against defenders and has good ball skills attacking at the highest point with his long reach. McMullen has worked himself into the lineup with consistency as a receiver and great effort as a blocker as well as making plays when afforded the opportunity. Billy McMullen is a solid wide receiver that is smart enough to properly operate a complex offensive system and enough talent to provide quality depth to a receiving corps.

whatever happened to Jeremy Bloom? I picked him up on Madden (in other words, take this whole post with a grain of salt) and I strait up kill DBs with him as #4 WR in the slot.

Hey, when I posted this thread alot of people said I was crazy. But, after seeing the Redskins not going after a reciever, felt they must think that Mix can be the guy. Well, Zorn is saying just that.

He's saying Mix will be given an opportunity to play, just like everyone else is saying. I think Schneed put it best. We all hope he'll be the stud WR his appearance makes him seem to be, but there is a difference (should be a difference) between hope and expecation.

Well, what I am saying, is that they have high expectations for him. Maybe they are wrong and making a huge blunder, but Cerrato has publicly said he likes him and Zorn says he likes him also. I am not saying I know this for a fact, but from their action, it seems to me, they are expecting alot from him.

"Expecting" and "Hoping" are two differen't things... I think they "hope" he will be a stud, but I know they aren't "expecting" anymore from him then they would from any undrafted rookie until he proves something.

Re: Anthony Mix Must Be Our Man

They're gonna give him the opportunity based on what J.C. said about him. He and Campbell must have a pretty good feel for one another or else he wouldn't be here. He's young, cheap, and may possibly offer something to this team. We definitely need a third, big wide receiver. With that said, let's just wait and see what happens and hopefully he won't be another Jacobs, Lloyd, etc...and make the plays in practice he can't make on the field.

Re: Anthony Mix Must Be Our Man

I think Mix will have a great year and I think that he can be the WR that Zorn needs and is looking for. Just his play on special teams last year made him a eye opener.

He was in on a lot of tackles on kickoffs, seemed like he was always where the returner was.

Re: Anthony Mix Must Be Our Man

I think that the lastest news from the Washinton Post article posted earlier today affirms that the skins will probably not address WR in the early rounds (1,2,3) on draft day. I hope that Mix lives up to the hype. If he doesn't the team is going to take even more scrutiny for not addressing it in FA or early in the Draft this offseason. This does not change my mind that we should not take a WR in the first round.

Disclaimer: There are multiple threads that this statement could have fit in so back off.

I didn't get that from the article at all, in fact the article seemed to say that there are a no. of possibilities of who they'll draft in the early rounds. I would however, say that it seems unlikely that Vinny will want a wr w/the #1 pick, but that doesn't mean he won't w/a 2nd rounder, or 3rd.
