Ahhh, I knew you always chilled, but you never got all Frankie Goes to Hollywood on us, so I wasn't quite sure.

After a glass of wine I'm finally chilled.... I want the Redskins to win so badly. Not just for the fans, but for Joe Gibbs. He really deserves one last Superbowl before he retires.

Re: This is pissing me off!

Ok. This is what I see.

Mark Brunell - Mark Rypien
Ladell Betts - Ricky Ervins
Clinton Portis - Earnest Byner (much better though)
TJ Duckett - (if he signs extension) Gerald Riggs

LOOK AT THE SIMULARITIES.

Duckett is a big, Riggs up the gut type guy.
Betts is a somewhat speedy, up front corners guy.
Portis is the same as Byner, but much faster, and has bigger playmaking abilities, but generally the same style runner.

Brunell is a veteran guy, just like Rypien, but for some reason, I think Brunell is more credible to getting us there.

This is preseason, but you can see simularities to the 92 season. What makes you fairweather fans think we are going to show anything thats going to be on film, even a week before the regular season when it all counts? Teams spend DAYS watching films, even weeks preparing for an opponent. We've been preparing for week one since training camp. All preseason for us is to see where we stand in terms of the newer guys, and to give the 3rd string a chance to fight for backup spots.

In response to some posts on this thread about whats going to happen against Minnesota... here is what ALL TRUE HOG FANS ARE THINKING RIGHT NOW.

It's going to be conservative. We are not going to blow anyone out, and by NO means are we going to show anymore than we have to, until it's time to show it. I'm expecting 30 to 40 percent, and thats even a big stretch. Minnesota isn't a worthy opponent. Wow. Brad Johnson, and who else? Nobody. They are rebuilding. I can see whats going to happen week two after the Minnesota game... it's going to go something like this.

WE WON BY A FIELD GOAL!! THATS WHAT I'VE BEEN WAITING ALL PRESEASON FOR??!!!

Nobody holds his cards closer than Gibbs. Mark my words, it may not be a spectacular season, but we WILL be farther, and the guys will come through. When we make it to the SUPERBOWL, WHEN... thats when you guys will see 100 percent of the offense. Maybe 70 to 80 against NFC teams, but it's going to be different. Genius football, not blowout, show everything every week football. I think this is whats gonna happen, but I'm not an analyst... like Sean Salisbury( lol ) but I have been a fan since Doug Williams, and I see shades of old when watching our team. Chill guys, it'll be all good.

Another similarity I noticed was from the 1990 season. Last year, the Skins were inconsistent at times, but finished strong with a road playoff win, but ultimately lost to a better team in the Divisional playoffs.

1990 Redskins were similarly inconsistent, but finished strong, had a road playoff win at Philly 20-6, but lost in the divisional playoffs to San Fran 28-10.
