Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
Kirk was pretty disrespectful to SM last night. SM is the general manager and was doing his job by making the decision to franchise him. Me and many others all thought that was the best option. And Kirk still got 20 million, not like he is still playing on his rookie contract. That being said, as of now he holds all the cards and will be getting how money here or somewhere else.
He played amazing last night. Just about a perfect game and we needed that win badly going into a tough game on very short rest.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
How you like me now was disrespectful? Man a lot is being made of that. I took it as nothing more than heat of the battle stuff. KC was obviously pumped, I really don't think McCloughan took any offense at all.
It's a win/win for Kirk and McCloughan right now. |

I don't think it's a big deal. Probably already over with. But I wouldn't do that to my boss lol.

All that said, when the two sides go over it once the season ends, KC is going to be happy with his paycheck! |

Scott M. and Redskins FO made a very public decision by not giving KC a long term deal. The Redskins FO doubted KC professionally and everyone in the Football world knew it. You also doubted him. Any human being with an once of pride would take that as a challenge. Prove you are worthy. Putting it into that context, KC was not disrespectful. He was just reminding one of the guys that doubted him professionally of what he just accomplished. If it was a little emotional, that is to be expected. KC was vindicated. Not sure how much more he needs to prove himself? |

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
Interesting listening to Kirk this morning on The Fan. He openly said that him still being in Washington and starting was solely due to Scott McLoughan. Scott believed in him and gave him that chance last year. Tells you there were forces very much against Kirk. (my guess namely Dan and Bruce)
@granthpaulsen Kirk Cousins says Scot McCloughan re-affirmed him halfway through last season and it helped him as he ascended in 2nd-half. #Redskins https://twitter.com/granthpaulsen/st...29679959244800

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
I get being excited, but maybe tone it down a notch or 2. And I don't think this will have any long term affects.
As of now he's definitely earned a long term contract. Big time improvements over the course of this season.

If true (and I realize there's some supposition involved here), it just confirms that neither Dan nor Bruce should be anywhere near personnel decisions. I thought it was interesting that as pissed as Aaron Rodgers was last night, even though he grimaced when he congratulated Cousins, he paused for a moment, and then said something that Cousins seemed to take as respectful and encouraging. You can tell Rodgers is upset with how the Packers season has gone (and he's been awesome in recent weeks -- not many QBs would have lost a game playing the way he played last night). But whatever he said to Cousins seemed, at least from the body language of both men, to be genuine.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
Kirk was merely fired up. Scot loves this stuff! He (SM) ate it up! This is what he wants to see out of Kirk Cousins. It's what we all want to see. I hope KC is as "disrespectful" week in and week out! The dude is balling! Pay him!

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
Lol, yeah, SM would probably let Cousins dick kick him after every game if he threw for 375 and multiple tds with no turnovers.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
Football isn't the regular job that most of us go to everyday. Now if he did that to Snyder???

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
I don't think KC was being disrespectful. But I do think there is and has always has been slight tension between Snyder/Allen and KC and his agent.
